key fob 1 not really working well anymore
now that the weather is cold the car does not automatically unlock doors once im near it even after checking settings. I have to press the lock and unlock buttons on fob sometimes multiple times before it works. is it fob battery? my fob#2 perfectly fine

Probably the fob needs a new battery. They're pretty cheap.

Yeah, very strange. Probably because your battery is dead! What's up with these stupid threads? Don't get enough attention at home?

I've had the same experience. Battery replaced but in cooler weather I may work the handle for 30-60 seconds and prepare to climb in the hatch before the door will open. In the hot summer in Florida, no problem. Don't shoot the messenger.

A very common battery and very easy to change. 2032 3v and they start acting up when they drop to 2.8v. Watch some U-tube DYI and you dont need any tools just the key to twist it apart.

Be aware that it's possible to buy brand new batteries that are bad. Try to buy from a source where they sell many of them, if possible. If you have a problem with a new one, check the voltage like simplegto suggested above.

Well, you might want to read the manual, and find out that there is a pull-tab in the hatch area that will open the DS door. No need to climb in the back and over the seat.

Here are two things you should do:
1) Replace the FOB battery (CR2032) make sure you get a named brand - not some cheap knock off.
2) Clean the contacts inside the door latch unit - very common that it gets corroded - here is the video - very simple to do:

I have hearing loss- speech deafness - wear hearing aids for 45 years - and have to buy batteries every month - I DON'T but cheap batteries - and it's not unusual a couple of batteries to be bad in a packet.

I have the same problem, when it gets down to the teens and 20's, the door likes to not open (recently replaced battery in key fob). Then when I get in the car it says no fob detected and I have to start the car by putting the key fob in the glove box slot.
