I'll be 62 when I get mine. Just wondering if any of you regretted getting one at an age that's on the downhill side...

Got mine at 68 after my wife passed. A car she always wanted me too have but she came first. No regrets except wish she was here to enjoy it with me. She loved vette too. My gf at 59 runs a 2016 Harley Ultra Glide trike all tricked out and same color as the vette.

2020 C5 of the Year Winner- Unmodified
I'm guessing a lot of us are over 60. I traded in my C4, that I bought new in 1986, a few months ago for my 2,000 C5 FRC. I'm really enjoying my FRC. I'm still trying to go uphill though. I still ride my CBR1000rr like I stole it..... LOL Oh, I'll bee 69 in May.

Team Owner
Can't speak for myself, but I've got a friend who's a long time Vette owner, has 2, a C3 and a C7, has had every generation, and tracks his C7 for what he estimates is 5% of the mileage on the car. (28kmi this past month). He's 83...
At his house a few weeks ago, we laughed about a $500 speeding ticket he got up in NY.
With any luck, the car will make you younger.

I was 61 when I bought a new 2003 Z06 and was posted in Berlin with the American Embassy. Needless to say I had a lot of fun on the autobahn, one time got it up to 160 but the car started to lift so I kept it around 150.

I think there are two things everyman should own once in his lifetime : 1 is a Harley-Davidson --- and for my 50th birthday present to me I bought a black and chrome 1200 Custom Sportster that I kept until last year and sold it due to my wife not being able to ride anymore plus the fact that inattentive drivers are running rampant out there so a motorcycle is a lot less safe these days. 2 is a Corvette ---and for my 60th birthday to me I bought a 2002 Speedway White w/gray leather auto coupe w/87000 miles on her. This was 5 years ago and there are no regrets at all. I think being a little older(and wiser) makes you appreciate all the hard work it took to obtain one and also the wisdom to properly operate one.
I've owned a 64-1/2 Mustang that was pushing 400 HP, a '69 GTO , '75 Trans-Am and a 1994 Mitzu 3000GT and I'm having more fun with my Vette than all the others combined.

Bought my 99 C5 convertible at 70. My 2000 Jaguar XK8 had been totaled the month before. The Corvette rides better and gets better mileage! I bought a 66 coupe with A/C during the oil embargo with 45000 miles. Ex wife totaled it. Used the insurance money for down payment on our first house!
