I didn't realize there were a bunch of choices. I mean isn't poly...poly ? I'll be interested in hearing some of these responses.

Me too. Last I knew (50 years ago) they were steel and rubber.

Poly can have different durometer. Some like it softer, some like it harder.

Summit Racing has a couple of different ones for the C-6 if I remember right. Prothane has them available also, do a search for Prothane suspension components.

Hinson mounts work well.

I may understand this for suspension parts....but motor mounts. So someone may want their motor to rock & roll more than others? Hell....back in the day all I would do was chain down the motor on the high lift side and just race on......

Motor mounts give for a reason... Less noise to the frame, less impact damage on the block, etc...

Makes sense theres different durometers? I guess for a full race setup you'd want it as hard as possible without the engine mount point failing haha.

I have not used AMT's engine mounts, but I have used some of their other products. Well engineered, well made, very well documented, and very well supported.

I highly recommend never putting poly motor mounts. Unless, you like your car to rattle the fillings out of your teeth.

Poly mounts are not solid mounts. Hinson mounts been on my car for years and the difference is minimal. The difference in vibration from stock is so minimal that it's a non issue.

But of course it's people that have never used them who say not to.

I haven't really seen what durometer the aftermarket companies states for this platform but my daily, Mazdaspeed3, aftermarket companies who makes poly mounts for that platform has ranged anywhere from 70 duro to 90 duro and from there it's solid engine mounts. So there are some people who like it softer than others. My buddy is more OCD about engine shaking than I am so he has opted for a softer duro compared to me.

Why would anyone want their engine to "Shake" excessively ??.......inquiring minds must know.

I don't believe anyone really wants to feel their engine shake excessively. Harder poly mounts will reduce the amount of engine torqueing left to right. Softer ones will allow it to flex more but it'll give you more interior comfort. There are some people who don't mind it shaking "excessively" but everyone has their own taste to as to what they consider excessive. For my Mazdaspeed I do have the harder duro and I don't mind the light shaking at the steering wheel and clutch chatter. I've driven my buddies H/C/I with the hinson mounts and it shakes at idle. He would prefer it toned down a bit but it never bothered me driving it. To each their own.
