Top Flight 1971 Chevrolet Corvette LS6 Is a 1-Of-188 Bruiser
By Brett Foote

In the time of disco, the folks at Chevy decided to make things a little more far out with this Vette.

That with a stick is my dream c3. But, with ranges from 2 to 4 hundred grand, it remains a dream.

Beautiful car!! Would be the Holy Grail if it had a 4spd! I’ll take my LS5 with the 4spd. Yeah I know it’s not an LS6....if it was I’d be afraid to drive the damn car.

Extremely desirable, very expensive, the right color, but the wrong transmission.

If you know how to get the THM-400 to make a 1-2 shift with the overspeed limiter, you wouldn't think it was the wrong transmission....

A perfect reason for a "clone" all the fun, none of the worry, well maybe a little worry.

I know it is trivial, but Disco wasn't around in 1971. The scourge we knew as Disco came on the scene around 1977, started by the 1977 film Saturday Night Fever...

Sigh, yes, I'm that old...

Beautiful Vette in the article...

Have a TH-400 in my 70 LS5 and love the way it drives and shifts. Now how do You do that 1-2 shift that you guys are talking about.

I'm pretty sure there was disco a number of years before the movie Saturday Night Fever came out.

Disco started in 1970 in NYC and pretty much ended in 1980. Never saw it in MPLS until 1975. Did it ever make it to Saskatoon?

Oh yeah, it made it to Saskatoon and even all the small towns in Saskatchewan. I think Donna Summer's greatest hits was one of the best albums of all time.

Yes, that is one beautiful car. After I check my lotto ticket maybe.....

If I was building a clone I would go with a 502, 5 speed and 3:73 rear.

I like to cruse so I need the 5 speed.

There are a few 502's here - they are running great....

Can you imagine trying to get the power to the ground with those F - 70 / 15 tires which today are 215 - 70 /15's....

Why worry about driving them, thas what insurance is for
If Leno drives his which are a lot more rare/expensive I dont see the reason to let a Chevy sit
Id DD the wheels off it
