Default Restomod Air A/C

G'day All,
Has anyone installed a Restomod Air A/C system in their 68-74 Vette?
If so, please tell us about your experience.

What is that pink contraption in the front? I'm all for innovation but better hope they're around a few years from now. My Hot Rod Air is fantastic, but there is no company anymore for support.

I believe that faces the firewall and is used in the mounting.

I've looked over their stuff in person. They were a vendor on the Hotrod Power Tour.

Neat stuff- but its really just a dressed up Classic Auto Air piece- as they are a division of them.

You can set it up and control it from your phone...Only problem is my state just passed a law you can't use your phone while driving...So I'd have to pull over to adjust it!!!

I found this robust discussion on the Digital Corvettes website.

Yep- I am a little disappointed with the Vintage air- as I feel it has too much of a parasitic draw. Not a great idea for a non daily driver car.

Looks a little light on components. Doesn't look complete compared to Vintage Air and classic Auto Air. I'm going with Classic Auto Air

Installed Vintage Air's Gen IV into my '71 about 3 weeks ago. Works great ... now it seems I lost the floor feature ... and that's disappointing, but overall, the kit install was not terribly difficult but it did take a couple of days as the entire dash gets pulled.

It has an electric valve on the heater coil so there's no heating the evaporator coil ... which means the cold air is C O L D!

the alternator DOES get taxed more ... 20Amps according to the stock gauge. I may end up with an upgraded alternator next summer. We'll see.

Enjoying the hound out of this classic sports car.
