a&a intercooler vs procharger race intercooler
so I am currently awaiting my ysi-b kit in the mail... I have been doing some research and I have seen people swap to the procharger race intercooler.. Im wanting to know the reason for the swap and if I should swap?

intake air temps are a killer for power for any FI system. Especially blowers. As an intercooler gets pushed to its limits it can only cool the air its supplying so much.
The hotter the air is the lest power the car will make, etc. YSI-B is one of the bigger street car blowers on the market and making sure the intercooler you are using is sufficient is important.
Cars can pick up a lot of power from an intercooler upgrade, but the biggest benefits are the IAT and Charge Temps stay low through out a pull. I would install the kit as it came and see how your charge temps and IAT perform. If you're running meth you probably can get away with the standard intercooler.

I have been running the A&A intercooler on my car for the last couple of years with a F-2 Procharger making +/-1100 rwhp. No issues with IAT's. For me, unless you are trying to squeeze every ounce of hp out of your set up just keep the A&A.

I don't know how hard I will be spinning the blower car has an lme 416ci meth I ordered the max effort pulley setup.... I wonder if I will have heat issues that was the main reason why I am going centri I previously had a maxed out edlebrock e force. do you guys think that I will have a iat issue with this setup.

A&A core should be fine. I wouldn't touch anything unless you have an issue.

well, so is there any hard data on those units? size, size of in/outlet, kind of core, restriction and delta temp at certain throughput. i often see hp ratings, but imo those are meaningless without the other data.

OP, are you adding a second BOV to your setup? If so, I know that the A&A setup has a configuration to have the BOV under the right headlight and the ProCharger race intercooler has one on the Intercooler housing. I'm considering putting a second BOV right before the A&A intercooler or having something welded onto my A&A cooler.

as of right now I wont be adding a second bov I did upgrade to the big bubba apparently the a&a kit works fine without the double bov setup most people with auto cars were adding the second bov to keep the car from going into limp mode from my understanding!

My car is running the Procharger intercooler, and in summer temps still barley above outside temps when dirving around... evena good pull 10 degree difference..

Just an FYI it is best to have a BOV before the intercooler because it will evacuate most of the hot air before it heat soaks the intercooler, a BOV on or after the intercooler keeps all the hot air in the intercooler warming it up

I went ahead and got the big bov as well!

Anything from a 3.0 8% and more aggressive will make over 1000. I run a 2.7 10%.
