Default Advice?

Just got my Range AFM dis-abler with on/off switch/cord. What's the best way to attach/place it so the cord etc. is out of the way and doesn't hang down? Tucked under the lower edge of the dashboard? Clipped there?
Thanks for any hints.

Just curious Mike why you have an on/off switch. Is your Range an old unit? The new units with the update firmware do not draw current any more when the car is off. At least that is what Range Tech claims and new owners are agreeing with. Also, do you use your CTEK battery tender? It helps with maintaining battery life if that is your concern.

AND you can send your old unit to them to update...FREE! Only requires postage to/from.
I used my switch alongside the drivers door floor carpet with Velcro to the connector.

No, it's the new version V8-6R1 bought directly from Range (I called and verified). I thought it would be 'safer' with the off switch. I don't use a battery tender because I drive it in the winter (sunny days) regardless of the temp. I just don't park it outside. I may rethink using the cord. I might just try it without the cord. Plug it in when the ignition is off, right?

I am not having any problems leaving it in with the car off so far. Other owners have not complained about parasitic drain of the battery. I think Range Tech got it figured out now. You're golden.

Why would you need a AFM disabler when you can just switch out of eco mode?

you still can drop in 4 cyl mode outside of Eco mode if you have an A8.
