Your strategy to prevent parking lot dings?
I imagine being the clown who takes up 2 or 4 spaces is almost guaranteed to get your car keyed, what do you do if parking spaces are at a premium and there aren't remote areas with large clusters of unoccupied spaces?

I don’t leave my classic cars unattended on a public parking lot. If push comes to shove, I take someone with me and have them wait with the car. Been doing things this way ever since my father-in-laws Chevelle was sideswiped on a lot and they didn’t stick around to explain.

What's your strategy for avoiding parking lot dings? What works for you might also work for others.

No, parking like a cheesedick wont help,
In my view if the car isnt a daily driver but more a fun toy, one with that 10k paint job your best bet is not driving it to parking lots, only park it where you can keep an eye on it.
But if the car is a driver then dings are part of life,
When my 69 is driving again when i do drive it somewhere i will park where ever, its not a show queen not what i want.
Its insured so im okay with it.

unless you can keep an eye on your investment leave in the garage.
I drove my corvette to a wedding (daytime) to prevent any damage I parked on the grass under a big cross at the church solo spot. 4 hours later we come out to leave the church and there was nothing but parked vehicles surrounding the corvette I was barley able to pull the car out.
so even parking far and away there will always be a circus chimp that has to park right next to the corvette when there is ample spaces still available in the parking lot.

I park where there is the least amount of traffic and then scurry in and out rather quickly. Only take wherever I won't be gone for long, grocery store, Home Depot etc...to pick up a few things. 10 -15 minutes max. Mark
