What do you guys think of this C5Z06?
I've actively been watching for C5 Z06s in my area for the past 6 months. I would love to find one for $15k, but would spend $20k for the right one. Then, this one pops up on Craigslist for $22k about an hour away from me. Looks to be worth the asking price of $22k. I don't think I would be upset with it. Low miles, procharger, clean, etc... What do you guys think?

I looks like the right one to me... 22K is asking... meaning he will take less. If you know cars and do a personal evaluation and the car is 1 hour away., If its right I would come home with it. Naturally you will need to feel as though you got a deal. If you offer him 20 K on the spot, and he needs to feel he negotiated with you, and you both agree on 21K, it would be good for both of you... If its a good car, mechanically it wont last long. Really good cars do n ot last very long in the for sale category. Good Luck.

PS it looks well maintained with nice wheels and the right procharger.

While I am leary of CL, I would definitely check this car out if I was looking for one. If everything is legit, the owner shouldn't mind meeting you at his local police department parking lot with the car for you to check it out, weather permitting and there isn't salt on the roads.
Cash is king. I'd bet $20K would buy it, especially this time of the year.
It appears to be a well kept garage queen. If it passes your inspection and has service documentation, I think it's worth what you're willing to pay for it.
Everything in the listing looks and sounds right except the part about gaining an additional 225 hp with larger injectors and a tune, but I wouldn't be too concerned with that. That's just big talk from somebody who don't know what their talking about.

I'm going to go look at it tonight. I called the guy and spoke to him. Sounded like a very honest guy who didn't have anything to hide. Wants to sell the vette this week as he has his eyes on a '12 CTS-V. 1st owner was a doctor who had the blower installed. I didn't catch much about the 2nd owner, but this guy is the 3rd owner and he bought it earlier in the year for $25k. This guy legitimately has a car problem. He sent me additional photos of the vette covered in a clean garage with a lift. There was a gt-500, another mustang, something else covered up, and an older Saturn Sky. I'll let you know what I see!

To me the s/c adds no value but the price is great for a low mileage z. I would have a mechanic check it out [compression, suspension, oil leaks, the works. If its 100% go for it. Keep in mind parts get old from driving and just age. Id be worried about seals drying up. Not sure if clutch wear can be checked, its low miles buy how was it driven?

Looks like a great C5. See if you can get it for $20K, maybe $20.5K. Tear off the stripe and lower that thing

If the supercharger doesn’t bother you and it is in good shape? It looks like a good deal to me. I doubt very much it’s been beat on with that low of miles. Keep in mind if you drive a supercharged car hard you may break something but if you just get into it every once in a while and it’s built right it would probably be fine. The hp number seems pretty conservative to me, on the other hand 700 horse power to the crank seems very unlikely without doing a lot more.
What else you going to spend 20k on and get that kind of horse power in low mileage car.
good luck and keep us posted
Plus he has a very good reasoning for wanting to sell it if you ask me.

I would not be too concerned about buying from CL. That's where I found mine ... and I made out well, with a good deal. It's a fair price for a Z06, has low miles, extra HP to boot and it looks like it has been well cared for. I would have snatched that up when I was looking a few months ago when I bought mine. Cash in hand is king!
Good luck!
