Default Automotive Spray Paint Help

I have a factory ZR1 front splitter (obviously carbon fiber) that I want to paint flat black to match the factory splash guards, rear diffuser, etc. I figured since it’s matte black there is no need to hire a body shop to paint it. But, I am unsure of which product would be best. I assume a $3 rattle can from the Depot is not the way to go. Maybe Duplicolor? Are there other high quality rattle can products out there that can produce a factory look?

Don't over think it, wash it, scuff it and spray it.

Have you thought about trying one of the removable/peel paints in case you change your mind?

Go to a paint store and spend a little more on a 2k satin "rattle can" it's just like spraying with an HVLP gun, but is a true auto paint. Scuff, clean, shoot. I think even Eastwood sells their own version now. I love this thing for small jobs, really beats getting my guns and equipment out.

I think I will give this a try - I like the idea of it being quality automotive paint.

Rustoleum makes great rattle can paints. I would give that a try..follow directions. Also, Plasti-dip has a very good matte black. Apply 3 thin coats, and it looks good. Can be peeled off if you want to try something else.
