Default Front emblem

What the heck is going on with my front emblem. This car is garaged most of its life.

You can get it off with fishing line, but the front one has two pins in the back that indexes to holes in the fascia. Just buy a new one, cheapest is ebay but not cheap exactly. The one on the back comes off and doesn't have pins so just polish the paint under it and toss it.

Almost looks like someone took a heat source to the emblem. Never seen something like that before. frodo84 has given you good advice on how to remove it. A little heat from a hair dryer will help loosen the double sided tape.

It costs 17 cents to make it and they charge $127 for it. It’s robbery. I think it’s the part with the biggest corvette tax. Strip it down and plastidip it.

It costs more than it should, but Amazon has the GM part (#19207384) for $83.75 with free shipping.

Haha, sure looks like it. Very strange indeed. Curious as well, I'm going to follow this thread to see if someone has an explanation.

Never seen that before. Did you notice any signs of deteriorating or did it happen overnight? What year is your car?

Looks like some kind of chemical ate it up....

Did you spray any WD40 on the nose for love bugs...?

Or a bug removal product....?

Hard to tell....
