I've always seen them in black. That's what I used when I switched from Wagon Wheels to Mags. I bought aftermarket genuine black lug nuts and locks rather than go for the GM plastic covers and the associated bolts. The GM covers are wider and fill the holes in the mags completely. The lugs and locks I got leave a space around the bottom of the holes but you have to be lying on the ground to see it. Even then it looks fine.

Burning Brakes
I've got a 2001 and right after I bought mine I replaced the broken, battered and discolored one's with some grey replacements from Auto Zone. They look great some 9 years later.

Drifting
Not to high jack this thread but I have a question. Have owned my 03 AE vette for a year and never had the need to remove a wheel so I do not know. Are the chrome lug nuts that you see real or are they just covers over the actual lug nuts. If covers do they have to be removed to access the real nuts or just use a lug wrench that fits over the covers. Some have told me they are the actual nuts, others say covers. Help would be appreciated.
