Default Radiator shroud

Greetings. I recently switched over to an MF103 halltech intake to replace what looks like an old vararam snake charmer. Post install the car would surge at steady low rpms regardless of speed. After cleaning the maf and checking for leaks, surge still persists. My stock shroud appears to have been cut to accommodate the vararam. Saw a few posts stating that using cut shroud on any intake that doesn’t require it causes extra turbulence to the maf. Pulled codes and it was p0101, p0171, and p0174. After cleaning the maf and clearing codes they haven’t returned. Can anyone confirm the cut shroud/turbulence so I can order a new shroud? And what’s the part number? All I could ascertain was 25857217 but I would get mixed results as to the z06 fitment. 2006 year.
Thanks

You definitely should get a new shroud...not only will a cut one cause some surging, that shroud is a high pressure area for your radiator. So if it's all cut up, you have air escaping that high pressure are versus being fed through your radiator.

My car had a vette air scoop on it when I bought it and it surged horribly. Pulled it and painted a piece of thin aluminum black and riveted in place over the hole. No surging.

Definitely going to do something about it. Just can’t seem to find a definitive part number on it since the z06 is different. Don’t want to get the wrong one.

you had to pull the shroud to fix/close it?

I figured. Anytime I’ve searched that part number on sites though it states it’s for ls3 with oil cooler. Which I assume is the same piece for z06s since they have the oil cooler already.

These guys market it as a "C6 Z06" shroud... http://www.improvedracing.com/coolin...217-p-303.html

Lol that’s where I got the part number. Probably the one I’m gonna get. Just sent them an email to see if they can confirm for me

The hole for the Vette air scoop was only 10 in by 5 in so I did not pull the shroud.
