Default Corvette and NSX

I took an enjoyable 200 mile autumn drive today to visit with my friend from college. Here are a couple of pictures of my car and his NSX.

Steve,
Great pics of two cool cars!

Why is the top up?

Jerry will be here in a minute to talk about NSXs...

Hey Matt - Well, I left Eustis for Gainesville at 7:30 am and it was chilly. The top went down for the drive home.

About the NSX, my friend has had it about 10 years. He sold a ‘59 Porsche 356 Cabriolet that had just come off a 10-year restoration to buy it. The NSX only has 20k miles.

Steve,
Did you take 441/301?

Hey Robert- Yes, I took 441 all the way there. I took I-75 home from Gainesville to 326 and then 441 the rest of the way.

How did you know? There are at least 4 routes. We usually take the route to the East through the Ocala National Forest. That’s a pretty drive.

Here is the last 2005 NSX sold in the United States. The greatest driving sports car that I have ever owned.

That's the route I took escaping IRMAGEDDON. I try to avoid I75 when possible even in a modern car. I'd like to check out the ONF route someday!

Robert - I agree with you about I-75. Always heavy traffic. I only drove a short distance on it and traffic was uncharacteristically light.

Neither I-75 nor 441 would be my first choices for a northbound evacuation drive.

Try the Nional Forest Drive next time. Always light traffic and you can route yourself so you don’t have to go through Ocala.

Thanks Matt. My NSX has been my DD for 15 years, I love it. If the new C-8 has a small turbocharged V-8 and puts the engine in the middle of the car, like the NSX. it will be game changer for the automotive sports car world. Jerry

Every once in a while the Japanese sports car designs “ hit me where I live”. Like the first Datsun 240-Z I ever saw. It didn’t look anything like you’d expect from that country at the time.
