California and Registration
To the California residents of the group what do you pay for your yearly taxes and registration in the San Deigo/Camp Pendelton area?

My '17 Stingray was $585, my buddy's 17 Z51 was $675... The Sacramento Politburo has to pay for Moonbeam's High Speed Choo Choo to nowhere somehow.... Welcome to Commiefornia, Comrade...

Earlier this year, I paid $680 to renew my CA registration on my 2016 3LT Z51 coupe. That is registration for June 2018 through June 2019. Note however, that I think the rate is the same wherever one is in California, as it is payable to the DMV, which is a state entity, not local.

California is sure a beautiful state. . . but I can't think of a worse place to live.
Sorry, but to pay MORE than $500 per year for the privilege of driving a car is madness!!!!

In VA we pay $58 for registration then we pay a personal property tax based on the cars value for example in my city we pay in june and dec. So for my 2015 Z51 3LT i paid $579 this dec. it really sucks you never own your own property so CA just paying once a year isnt so bad for taxes. That means I pay over $1140 a year

In Texas, we pay 8.5% sales tax at purchase. After that we pay ~$60. per year to register the car.

I feel the same way about Texas. Except it is a god-awful depressing looking place. But your cost of living KILLS California.

You are right . . . Texas is Geographically Challenged, but it is a great place to live. It is nice to have freedom from state government over-regulation.

Rates on older cars are going up too..used to be the older it was the cheaper it got.
Used to pay $40 for the Camino this yr it was closer to $200.
Youll need to put a stock exh back on that Camaro til you get it inspected here then you can swap it back on. THey are real strict on the visual
I got failed due to my cats and the EO#. They are legal but the PN was discontinued and replaced by another. Got lucky last min so to speak...
