Default ZR1 Paint Protection Film

Paint protection film? How do you guys feel about having this applied to your ZR1? I’m doing an R8C May 4, 10am and I’m considering having them apply the sports bra or trying to find somebody in Nashville who will do the protection film on Sat afternoon thru Sunday before we leave on Monday

My beauty!
. Thoughts?

Tough call.

if you have a shop that's far away from where you live apply to paint protection film and there's an issue with the film it's a hassle dealing with a local installer who didn't make the money off it the first time.

the big Brands back their product up and even in some cases will back charge the installer to have a different install a fixed the issue if one arises but you're taking a chance.

my advice to you is to get the car home and get it done by a shop near you with a very good reputation even if you have to travel an hour or two in any direction.

good luck and congrats!

I wouldn't want to be that far from the installer or have to be in a rush. Just don't follow too close etc. and you should be fine getting it home. Find an experienced installer with good reviews.

Place Xpel ‘Tracwrap’ on the front of the car to protect it on the way home. Then have the permanent PPF applied there.

You can always use the two inch blue masking tape, just to get it home. I am so thankful I have a covered trailer because I faced the same think picking mine up at the NCM last week. And the weather sucked it snowed and rained and sleeted. Good luck whatever you chose to do, but put something on there!!!!!By the way it is an R8C you had a type-O.

I call one of my car carriers that I use, and send my cars to Esoteric in Ohio, I have a local wrap company that does very nice work, but I have never seen paint correction and the wrap quality that Esoteric does. I get my cars 100% wrapped, and have for years without any issues. My ZR1 and turbo s will be there in Jan

Esoteric did my 2016 ZO6. Museum delivery direct to Esoteric for a 1 week stay where they did a fantastic job correcting paint, wrapping the car. Turned out spectacular and is a head-turner! Highly recommended.

Hey Les. Awesome ride. I just picked up my GS from the museum last month, I have had numerous discussions with Shane Webb at the NCM who manages the NCM R8C program and I had asked him about finding a good Xpel installer in the Nashvile area. Here is what he sent me:

The XPEL protectant film would have to be installed at a vendor of your choice following delivery. The closest XPEL installer is in Nashville, TN.

Auto Armor Window Tint and Paint Protection Film
14813 Lebanon Rd.
Old Hickory, TN 37138
(615) 310-9119

Paint Protection of Nashville
7107 Crossroads Blvd
Brentwood, TN 37027
(615) 681-3446

Hope this helps. The R8C delivery is even better than anything you may have heard. Memories will be made there. Good luck and Merry Xmas.

Not familiar with Miss? You have a May 4 RC8?????? The car will survive the trip. Best to have it done closer to home in case of problems later. Good luck.
