Default Belt Tensioner

Just happened to me. Started hearing an intermittent quiet "fluttering" type sound, and an occasional drop of oil under the front passenger side of the car. Took it in to Bill at Elco Chevrolet, and without even needing to look at it, he said it was the belt tensioner going bad. And yes, that was it. 2014 with 28,xxx miles.
This was new to me, thought I'd share in case you might notice the same sometime.
Have a great Christmas, or for the rest of you, holiday season.

Thank you. I had mine replaced in warranty. My symptoms were a whining sound. No leaks. That was at about 36,000 miles. I have about 85,000 miles now and still going strong.

Sounds might have been similar. I'm an old 70's Chicago cover band musician and high school band director with hearing aids. My wife had to tell me there was a sound, all I heard was the engine. Extended warranty took care of mine.

Dayum, we played a ton of Chicago in our band, but could never find a singer than could sound like Cetera That guy is good. Plus, I think Terry Kath would be quite proud of the lead guitar player.

Check out their YT pages. Incredible covers (and my version of Russian collusion!)

Now back to belt tensioner issues!

Yeah, when we get more mature our ability to stay on point is a bit diminished.
