Any know issues with base 2007 C6?
Hello all. I'm new to this forum and this is my first post. I'm considering buying my neighbors 2007 base C6 and I'm curious to know if there are any known issues I need to be aware of. It has 26,000 miles on it and he wants 20K. It is the manual transmission with the LS2 engine, all stock with the exception of a new set of American Racing headers, x-pipe, and high-flow cats. The car seems to run great, but I want to hear your opinions before I make him an offer. Your thoughts would be much appreciated.

mileage and price seem to be good.one of the issues with all years of the C6's would be wobbling harmonic balancer.may cost in the area of $1,300. to repair at a dealer.if it need's replacing use anything but a new one from GM.

A possible "squeal" noise from the serpentine belt, and the lower pulley may show a "wobble" with the engine running.
As long as it checks out, and they can provide records for service, etc. seems very fairly priced for the lower miles on it.
Best of luck in your decision!

There are some known issues with C6 Corvettes, The fuel tanks leaking gasoline, the loose airbag wiring harness under the drivers seat, the headlight wiring problem are a few that quickly come to mind

money. 20k, SCREW IT AND BUY IT NOW. That's several grand cheaper than market value, you could literally buy it, take it to carmax, and walk out with a few grand. Assuming it's a clean title, you've got plenty of room to fix any minot issues. If he spent money on longtubes and such, he likely has taken decent care of it.
Go to his house now with money before he realizes how cheap he priced it, and thank him for doing you a solid.

I think price is in line for the mileage.another known issue is the P/S hi psi line leaking. Updated part is around $70 and a few hours to install. I purchased this 07 base M6 for 16k almost two years ago it had 63k needed front tires, a P/S hose and a good buffing and cleaning. Good luck!

Be aware of buying anything from a neighbor. I'm sure your neighbor is a nice person, but buying something like a vehicle, esp. a performance vehicle from a neighbor is just never a good idea. Good Luck

Good news is shes familiar with the car and the unique movements needed for car fun.
All jokes aside, looks like a real nice car. Looks like it has an extended zr1 spoiler out back. I would probably look into wrapping the halo with a gloss black vinyl to match the glass top.
Nice score, enjoy the car! There are a few potential issues on these, but overall theyre very robust cars.
