Help. LMC5 didn’t fix it
I have been having stalling issues with my 99 C5. Intermittently the car will stall when it gets above 2 mph. Sometimes it is fine after restarting. Other times it takes several tries. From what I have read here, i believe this has to do with the column lock recall. My car had an older CLBM. Also, per a VIN check at the dealer, the recall was performed in 2001. I removed the old CLBM and installed an LMC5 module. The car is still intermittently stalling above 2mph. My column does not lock, even with the key removed. I am not getting any “remove key” messages and there are no codes on the DIC. What do I do next?

No messages on the DIC. I used to get the pull key message all the time before I installed the LMC5. It runs great once it lets me go over 2mph, so doubt fuel pressure is an issue

If you have problems with the 2 mph shutoff, you can also find someone who can tune your PCM to change it. The normal change is to raise it to 256 mph so unless you strap on a rocket assist, it will not shut off again. As I recall the brown wire mod is for when the DIC give you a message. Also check you battery voltage with the engine off...it should be 12.5V or more. When it goes below the 12.5V threshold, weird things happen to the PCM.

I carefully reviewed the directions for the LMC5 and went to the website. It says that the brown wire is only necessary if you are still getting the pull key message. I am not getting that message anymore. The website says that the 2mph cutoff after installing the LMC5 is usually caused by low battery voltage or a bad BCM. Battery voltage is currently at 11.99 volts. I’ve got the charger hooked up. I’m hoping it isn’t the BCM

Your battery is likely discharged. If you can't get a full charge out of charging it you'll probably need to replace it. You really can't diagnose column lock issues properly with a drained battery. (Remember, your car's alternator isn't designed necessarily to "charge" a battery, so after charging it if it's still lost charge or is discharging you need a new battery).
You're likely not getting the "recall 2 MPH" cut off if you're not receiving a Service Column Lock message on the DIC, so I'd immediately surmise your stalling is being caused by something else. Part of the 2 MPH programming is that it activates as part of column lock issues, i.e., you see a Service Column Lock message on DIC.

The battery is a 1 month old optima red top. I hooked up the charger and got the battery to 12.7 volts on my meter, DIC read 12.5 volts with the key on engine off. Started the car and got it over 2mph 3 tines with no problem. On the 4th try it stalled. After the stall DIC read 11.99 volts, meter at the battery terminals read 12.2 volts. While running it reads 14.2 volts. Still no codes on the DIC

I called Compliance parts today. There customer service and tech support is awesome. I have a few things to check when I get home, but he assured me that we will figure it out

Eventually it may become a problem, you may have a dealer installed fix upstream of your LMC5 fix that may totally fail one day and leave you stranded. It happened to me. I installed the LMC5 and continued to occasionally get pull key messages, then one day it became a solid failure, after digging around under the dash thinking the LMC5 had failed or was loose I found the dealer installed device, removed it, reinstalled the LMC5 and the problem has been completely resolved. Of course the failure occurred away from home on a 95 degree day.
Since I'm not the original owner what should I look for in regards to a dealer installed device?
