Default C7 Z06 doesnt feel fast....

Hey everyone,

(2015 Z06 w/ Z07. Its has a lower 15% pulley, intake, headers, xpipe, and tune).

The situation I am most focused on with this thread is determining why my C7Z doesn't feel faster then my previous stock C6Z. My previous C6 would push me back in my seat in a very brutal way. My C7 doesn't, even with 200 extra HP. Is this due to the E-dif? Or something alone those lines? The C7 still gets to about 120mph as quick as the C6, but it doesn't feel as aggressive at all. Can anyone shed some light on what I am missing here?

Since it has been tuned I would put it back on the dyno and see what it is putting down. That car should smoke your C6 Z.

Isn't there a screen on the DIC that displays the peak horsepower? What does this indicate after you do a pull?

I don't "feel" fatter since Thanksgiving, but my scale says otherwise. Seat of the pants feel is a very subjective thing. Once I got use to the 650 hp and 650tq my Z06 doesn't "feel" as fast as when I first got it, but I assure you it's just as fast, I've just got use to it being that fast and like most guys here now want more power.

Just my 2 cent worth, hope this helped.

The only thing I could think of that would do that is wheels. Did you get aftermarket wheels.

It is pegged at the top of 650. It doesn't go above that so I don't know if it is more.

I see where you are coming from but, my friends agree with me and they don't drive fast cars ever. My car is the only fast car they have experienced.

Nope. Everything else is stock.

Are you hitting the boost you're supposed to with the new pulley? Belt slip?

Belt slip, tire slip or clutch slip (if manual obviously). Keep in mind that seat of the pants feel isn't going to be everything. I prefer real world data to tell me if a car is faster or not. Some cars are smoother and can give the impression that they are slower when in fact it's not the case. I would swear my H/C fbody was a lot faster when I had the cutout open haha. It maybe gained 5hp at best but oh man did it sound like it was doing something.

I haven't read of anyone having belt slip with a 15%.

Probably traction control trying to keep you from smoking the tires. Turn It off and nail the gas and see how it feels.

So are you sure they are stock wheels? Nothing is worse for these cars than high un-sprung weight. A friend of mine had a C5Z06 and his car was way slower than mine which was the same except for me having stock wheels and he had aftermarket wheels that weighed way more. We swapped wheels and his car became way quicker than mine. it was hard to get him to switch back.LOL.
But also being used you should check to see if the cam was changed as well. Might have done something wrong, or wiped out some lobes.

Tires too right?

If the tires are also stock, I would say that you are feeling wheel slip and traction control reducing power. You might also want to see if the tires are dried out they could be too old now as well.

i have beat this to death. My stock c7z doesn’t feel as quick or fast as my stock c6z.

One of my favrote stretches of road to wring the cars out the c7z comes up 8 to 10 mph short of the c6z06.

All the c7z fan boys make excuses for the car and say I am a troll stirring up trouble . But there are videos and threads on this topic.

The c7z doesn’t feel as satisfying either because it doesn’t have the high rpm rush of the ls7.

In the end its no big deal. But the c7z06 needs a bigger super charger.

another problem is these c7z’s get heat soaked with the super charge spinning much faster then the c6zr1’s supercharger. The temps really impact the performance of these cars. Every once in a while the car seems to perform well on a luke warm start up. But once the car gets up to full operating temperature it peters out. Very poor design.

If the Z06 is slow than the huracans are complete dogs... considering I have no problems pulling huracans from a roll.

fast is a relative term.

ps. At least gizmo doesn't have the slowest C7z around....the OP takes that honor now...nice.

A stock z is exactly as fast as a stock huracan is it not?
