Default Two years and 10K miles with Z06

I rolled over the the 10K mile mark this weekend with my 2017 Z06. I took delivery 21 October 2016. To date I have had 3 oil changes, one set of tires, swapped brake pads to ceramics, and a 4 wheel alignment. That's it for maintenance. The tires and brake pads did not need to be changed. I hate brake dust and I wanted the Pilot A/S tires. The alignment was also voluntary to get a happy medium between the track focused factory setting and a purely street setting. My car is an auto and so far no trans issues. It's a 2LZ so no leather dash to shrink in the FL sun. Of the seven Vettes I've owned over the years, this one checks all of the boxes. I plan to keep this one for a while and add a C8 in a few years after its intro. I still have a 2006 C6 conv that I bought new that's not going anywhere any time soon. My car has been rained on so many times my wife has nick-named it "Stormy". It also got caught in the fringes of a Cat 1 hurricane last year. As for cosmetics, I have had the spats and front splitter painted carbon flash. I added splash guards also painted carbon flash and full length rocker panels to replace the 3/4 stock ones. I call it Stage 1.5. To finish it off a little underhood bling from Pete at Showstoppers. I also added B&B axle back exhaust.

I brought home our (pre-owned) 2018 on Wednesday before Thanksgiving. Weather (too cold for summer tires) has limited me to about 300 miles so far. Loving every minute of it. Thanks for the insight as the fun is only beginning.

Glad to hear you're enjoying your Z06 and have a C6 in the garage too.

If you don't mind (pls accept apologies if it appears I'm hijacking thread but you have both so thought I'd ask). I am contemplating a C7 Z06. Can you give me a quick idea of the differences in RIDE quality between the two (C6, C7 Z06) please? Is it a lot harsher, quieter or not, etc. TIA

To me the ride quality is about the same. My C6 has the Z51 package. I find both cars equally comfortable on long trips. My C6 is quieter due to it being a convertible (top up) than the C7 coupe. The Z definitely handles better even though I have the widebody rear on the C6 and have C6 Z06 rubber. Performance wise the Z06 wins. Both cars are running superchargers but the Z06 has more torque. My C6 is running a Vortech centrifugal SC and dynos at 541rwhp, the Z06 is bone stock. Both cars are auto trans. Each one has it's own merits and if I absolutely had to give one up, the C6 would go. Hope this helps. I just convinced a friend of mine to upgrade to a C7 Z06 from his 2005 coupe. He's on his way to NC to pick up a 2016 Z06 coupe.

I have nearly the same 2017 car, color and same maintenance except my tires are still good. It just turned two years old and 8,800 miles on my car however I have to report two bent wheels so far without tracking the car. Congrats on your two years.
