Default 327/300 steel valve covers

Anyone out there have a set of crusty, rusty steel valve covers with original decals for a 327/300? They have to be straight, not warped and able to be used on an original unrestored engine. Functional and in need of restoration. Let me know what you have. Thanks.

Vern, great question......I guess they would be considered the later version. Those used on C2 corvettes and other GM cars during the 60's. 327 label on top in a rectangle and the 300 hp decal on the side. Thanks.

I'll look to see what I have. Those pictured above are considered late, after May '63.

If these are considered late as defined by after May of 1963, then I need a set of late ones. My car is a 1964 June car. Thanks for the clarity.

I do have a pair that look like well worn originals but upon close inspection, it's obvious they had been repainted many years ago. Sorry.
Good luck in the hunt.

Vern, if you don't mind snap me a pic. They don't have to be original paint, just look like the paint has been on there a long time. Thanks.

Here you go. I haven't cleaned them up at all. Sorry for the blurry photos but my camera battery was dying. The rust inside is very light. A scotch brite pad and a water rinse will do it. Note that one is early and one is late. These probably aren't the ones for you. The mylar stickers are correct for '64.

Verne, I can't thank you enough for the effort you have gone to to get me these photos. Unfortunately, as you mentioned, one is early and one is later. Their condition is about what I have now, so they won't work. I do thank you again for your efforts. Still looking.
Thanks again.

Still looking. Come on guys. There has got to be a ton of these out there laying around in your garages not being used and most likely never will be. Once again, ideally I would like them to have the original top and side decals, 327 on top, 300 on side, surface rust, left side with clips for temp sender, scrapes and scratches are good, but still need to be serviceable (sit flat, not warped). Thanks. Let me know what you have either on this thread or through private message.

They are not as available as one would think. Have been watching swap meets for these and very few show up. Usually fiz bombed and over a hundred dollars. Design must have changed in later years.

Clearly they are not. I have found a set with the "patina" I am looking for, but they are chevy passenger with the top decal showing 275 hp. You can just barely make it out and if need be I can put the 300hp decal where they belong and age them a bit. You are right. I can't believe how much some people are asking for these, but I am not sure if anyone is getting their asking price. Sure thought there would be a lot more of them out there. Thanks to all for trying to help!
