Default Anyone have pics of front right brake line as it goes under motor and to caliper?

I want to see the exact routing/clip locations. I see my service manual it has one clip at the cross member but I'd like a visual of how the line is run as mine is bent a bit and I'm not exactly sure how it "should" be run.

THanks much

Dave

This is from the rear of the cradle.

Thank you, that is how mine is also. The manual calls for a push in line clip similar to how the rear lines are secured on the front right somewhere near the corner of the crossmember before it 90s back to the caliper but I see you don't have that either. Does anyone else? BTW, how did you break the rack ear?

See # 14 here. There is also a hole in the cross member for it. I really think they would have put it there also. Can anyon econfirm that?: https://www.wholesalegmpartsonline.c...05MY04-002.JPG

You have a good eye. The new rack bushing didn't have the metal spacer shell in it when I tightened it.
It wasn't that big of a deal since I had the engine out and was replacing the springs, shocks, brakes, spindles and bushings anyway.
You can see the C6 Z spring and swat bar in the background.
Used cradles are cheap since hardly anyone ever brakes them.
That would really suck if it happened to someone on a routine rack swap.

Couldn't just tig it back together? I bet a welding shop would have done it for $30.

BTW, the clip I'm referring to is there on yours. It's hard to see as it's dark but it's directly below your broken ear on the rear vertical face of the crossmember.

That was a two year old picture. from what I can recall there was a single plastic clip directly behind where I broke that ear off.
I still have the old cradle and went out to look at it. That was the only hole back there for mounting. The rest is held up by the ABS and the hose mount on the left. Keep in mind this is an '02.
I don't have any better pictures for you.

yep I've confirmed there is a clip back there. How did you keep that thing so clean? I'm in the process of pressure washing the drivetrain i removed due to a PS leak (I think) completely covering everything.

I purchased the car with a bent connecting rod as a rebuild project car. I replaced all the parts since I wanted it reliable and didn't want to do it twice.
