Default Seeking Z51 M7 under $40K

Looking to pick up a nice C7. M7 and NOT black are musts. Z51 much preferred but will consider great base cars.

Would prefer white or silver over red; orange, blue or Crystal Red over grey or Kalahari. 2LT and transparent roof are pluses. I know they’re out there — saw 2 recent private party sales of lower miles M7s ~$35K. And, Autotrader has a few dealer offers in the ballpark that a private party ought to beat by $2K-$3K. Obviously, dealing with a Forum member is preferred to paying a dealer premium.

Thanks in advance for your responses!

Thanks. Looks to be a beauty. But, I should have mentioned my preference for a Coupe and under 30K miles. I’m on Cargurus, Cars.com and Autotrader; just trying to smoke out some trustworthy Forum cars...

Gotcha..I just picked up my 17 a few weeks ago and I am still “looking”...saw some great examples in this forum here and more and more everyday. I estimate 2 to 3 months and you will hit the jackpot. if I see anything I’ll pass it on.

That is a beauty! But, A8 is a non-starter and you are on the wrong coast.

Thanks for responding...

My fault should of read your post more clear and a quick question, why do people have hate towers a8? Some people say the car must be an a8 and some people just stay far away from it

2 reasons from what I’ve heard. In my (and others’) case(s), just not a big fan of slushboxes, though they are getting better. I probably should test drive an A8 at some point. Other issue is that A8s have been a trouble spot for many owners, including at least one in my club. Do a search in the C7 forum...

Good luck...

A8 transmission factory defective.
you might have problem already OR you gonna have problem later on.
sad part is you can’t even fix it. You can put brand new transmission on it and it might blow couple weeks again.

good luck your search.

if that’s the case then why do some people require the car to be an a8? I’ve seen a few people here searching for one or saying if the car was a8 they would buy it

Don’t buy from stealerships. Look Craigslist, cars.com for private sellers.

I've actually had good luck with both. Certified cars, cars they are ready to wholesale anyway, etc. And, I have been ripped off by unscrupulous individuals who, despite my diligence, were able to fool me. I really am not a fan of Craigslist, but I do scour it as well to cover all my bases. I really fear nothing since I buy them to be nice daily drivers, not show cars or investments. Best deal I ever got, by far, was a superbly repaired salvage '01 Z06 that was just spectacular. I bought it at about 70% of clean title value, drove it for 15 months, and sold it for about $1500 less than I paid!!!! Buy cheap/sell cheap is my motto...

Just have to be thorough and skeptical. Example: last week I lost out on a CRM over Kalahari 2LT in Dallas with about 22K miles on it. It went for $35K and was probably a great deal (I was unable to get someone to closely examine the fender-bender damage and repair disclosed on the Carfax before it sold). Another example: if the one from Stanford above sits a while and gets down to $39K with some sort of REAL warranty it too would equal the decent Private Party deals I've seen out there.

I will contact them, with MY terms, and then just wait around. I am working hard righ now on this one -- https://www.mbmotorsports.com/invent...YA2D71G5102609 . Good deal if it checks out and close to home. There's 9 months left on the factory warranty AND I can check it out myself at about 3 hours round trip inconvenience.

Thanks for your help and advice. This is actually fun for me as I work on my own schedule and can "detour" into this sort of thing for a few hours every day...

Thanks.

Sounds very nice. Could you PM me some pix? Also, I have to assume what’s left of the factory warranty has been voided by the mods?
