Default New Steering Wheel Installed

Received my new steering wheel from Vasiliy, aka RFE Designs & minus a little misunderstanding/miscommunication on exactly what I wanted it - this is a beautiful piece of craftsmanship. The quality of his work is incredible. I highly recommend ordering a wheel from him to get rid of the ugly stock wheel.

I also covered the shroud with leather from JF Customs to match the rest of my interior. It came with pieces for the top & bottom of the shroud but I only did the top because it wouldn’t have snapped back together with leather on both halves. As it was I had to do quite a bit of trimming to the leather to get the top & bottom shroud pieces to click back together.

The orange on the Jake is off so I’m having my decal guy cut me a new Jake to match my others.

Beautiful. Is it a smaller diameter than stock?

Great looking steering wheel... and the matching leather and stitching on the steering wheel column cover is very cool.

It appears to be a modified OEM wheel (has the part # stickers on it) so same diameter.

May I ask how you modified the gauge cluster for the orange circumference on each gauge...? Looks great!

Thanks!

Default wheel

If I may ask , was the cost of wheel $1150.? Did you use your air bag and audio buttons ? thanks Mike

I want to comment on this but before i do i want you to know there is no disrespect meant. The out side of your car.....beautiful. The inside.....is starting to remind me of when i was a teenager(im 34) and honda civics were all the rage and everyone painted everything inside them and i though it looked tacky. I loved your seats and stitching...classy indeed. The gauges and that steering wheel look a bit much. Like a pimp wearing a purple suit and matching hat...and of course a feather in his hat. It’s just to much in my opinion. Butt like i said in the begging you exterior of your gs makes me drool.

It was less than that & the airbag/audio buttons were included with the wheel.

No disrespect taken, everyone is entitled to their opinion. It may appear a bit much in a zoomed-in pic, however, in person it is pretty subtle. The only thing painted orange in my interior are the gauge trim, which again in-person isn't as noticeable sitting back in the cluster as they are in the pic. The steering wheel - idk, certain editions have color-stitched wheels (ZR1s can have blue stitching, CE has red stitching, etc. ) so the stitching on the wheel coordinates with the stitching on the rest of the leather interior. Now if I were painting my radio bezel orange and my vent surrounds, switch pods, etc. I would tend to agree with your comparison

Hey JABCAT, I am on the older side of this forum age wise so I can relate to what Smdusaf is saying as far as some Corvette interiors in this forum looking like they came out of a Civic being over done and tacky. But yours looks sharp and ties in very nice. That wheel really sets it off. Nice job!
