Vette lights has them. Just plug and play. Any color stet lights has them. Choice of colors. Easy swap by just lifting the shift indicator letters with small screwdriver. No need to tear counsel apart. Have done it many times. Replacements are plug and play.

Default Had a broken shift indicator lever and melted socket-replaced both

My shift indicator lever was broken and when I dissected the shift plastic display found a melted socket as well. I went on Fleebay and ordered several inexpensive LED bulbs and found a socket there also which was also inexpensive. A forum member sent me a 3D printed shift lever at no charge and I replaced the works. Picked a bright blue LED and it looks better than the OEM 194 yellowish light bulb. The original bulb also melted part of the plastic just over the bulb. I used a round file to remove the melted part and did not have to replace it.
Saw someone on a Youtube video selling a shift lever and the plastic diffuser for around $30. If you do not need the shift lever go the Fleebay route and you can fix your car for a few dollars.

Be careful of the bulbs on e bay. Got some from a seller and they were no way close to fitting right. Vette lights like I said in my op has exactly what you need for a few bucks more than e bay. Worth the piece of mind and wasted $

You can use one of our Cree XP-E forward-firing marker light bulbs for them. Since this is such a small rarely-requested part, I don't have a product page for it, but I'll let you have one for $20 shipped (USPS)

Note: the light diffuser has a blue-tint to it to compensate for the color of the factory bulb. If you use an LED bulb and you want the overall appearance to be warm white, you have two options:
1) remove the factory light diffuser (sticker) and replace it with a pure white sticker
2) Use a warm white LED bulb. (hoping it will correctly color-match everything else in the inside of your car)

Also be sure your factory diffuser base doesn't have heat damage from the factory bulb, if it does, you'll need to use a rotary tool or similar to remove the heat-damaged material and sand it smooth (at least 320gr) for effective light transmission.

Default Shift indicator socket

I too, broke the bulb and found the socket burned out. Would like to replace it with a new one. Anyone have a clue as to where I can purchase one of these? Info would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

Wally world, any auto parts store, just about anywhere. The first time I replaced the OEM bulb with an LED bulb it went out within a year (bought the LED on fleabay). The last time I replaced it I stopped in Walmart and got the one in the pic below for 5 bucks. It's been working ever since -

The bulb is a bitch to get out without breaking it going through the top of the indicator. I broke mine trying to remove it and the receptical end in the socket stayed in. Thought I would have to take console apart, but I carefully chipped away the remainder of the bulb in the socket with a pick . Worked great and socket was fine. Sucked out the pieces with a vac., no damage to socket. Installed blue LED from Vette Lights and all is good. Be patient if you chip away and avoid the terminals on socket or you will ruin the socket. Once bulb is chipped at enough, it will just fall away from socket terminals.

Default Led

The led change caper just cost me a total of $30. for a new replacement socket from Ecklers. The damn thing shattered while trying to PICK out the shattered bulb. Plus I had to take the whole console out to get to it. Now I'm thinking, maybe now's the time to move up to a double din audio system. $$$$$$$ there's no end to it. Lol

Friendly tip - Next time you have to remove one of those OEM glass bulbs, just pinch some duct tape to the exposed part of the glass with enough for a tab to pull on and pull it out.

Did the DT trick, but that bulb Was in like glue! Broke and then chipped away until gone. I'm sure some sockets are so old and brittle, that the only fix is a new one. In that case there's no choice but to remove the counsel and replace the whole works. Have done four of them through the top and only one broken bulb.. MINE!
