Stock crank, throw in some decent pistons and rods. No need to crazy on expensive rings, etc that drive the price up. For 5k, a you can easily have a good shortblock built. I’d go local on the machine shop.

No affiliation with Thompson, but they’ve been around a long time and should have their **** together when building engines.

That’s been happening for a while now.

A year or so ago one of their former employees came out and said how they toss junk together and dont care. It was a former employee who could have been fired and upset ect. So take it with a grain of salt. Point really is this isnt the first time I have heard this in my life.

Heard the same thing.
If I was doing a motor, HPR would be top of my list.

Yeah, it got ugly when the details got released. I was years ago before the beans got spilt.
I didn’t even bother shipping mine back. Decided to have a real motor built. H2squared, G&G here in Houston have both built rock solid shortblocks for me in multiple corvettes I’ve had. My best friend owns Bad Chad Performance here locally and he uses LME with great results.

It’s really water under the bridge. Pat G didn’t destroy my motor. He left room in the tune and the motor was broke in properly.
