i just purchased a 2007 c6 and have had to replace the harmonic balancer, the f55 shocks and I知 going to have to do something about the exhaust, to much of a drone in cab to her liking,so I have spent some money. I知 now looking to replace my front brakes, they have drilled rotors and I would like to replace those along with the pads but damn if I can find a front set or rotors and pads that won稚 break the bank any suggestions.
I bought my rotors and ceramic pads at Auto Zone and the total was $400.00 to do front and rear. I don't remember the individual prices but the rotors look and perform like the OEM parts that I removed.

This is correct. You can pick up rotors and pads at your local DIY auto shop and you will be just fine. If you want to step it up just a tad without losing your wallet, look at DBA parts. Good stuff from down under. Otherwise, o o o o池eilly, auto parts.

What do you consider breaking the bank? Can get factory drilled rotors for $750/4.
Or check out forum vendor KNSbrakes for aftermarket options. Myself I went with DBA T3 4000/5000 but they have high grade cheaper options.
Check out Powerstop brand brakes, they have a nice Z26 street warrior upgrade pad/rotor kit for the front & rear that won't break the bank. Rock Auto, Pepboys, Amazon, Jegs, Summit etc carry them
FYI, if they're drilled then you need Z51 rotors & pads... ensure that you get them priced for the larger rotors, DBA is great, quoted me $500 for replacement rotors for mine.
rockauto.com you can get Delco drilled rotors for under $250 for all 4.
rockauto is usually my first choice.
However, if you have an Advanced Auto Parts store near you, you can usually google a coupon code that allows you to order online and pick up in store almost immediately and you save 25-30% it used to be 30% all the time, but now it's typically 25%. with that kind of discount, you can usually complete closer with rockauto but don't have to wait for shipping.
there is a limit of $50 discount max per purchase, but you can can do more than one order if you are over teh $50 savings limit.

Look inside your glove box on the left side. There is a sticker (easy to miss but it is there). That sticker has all off the option codes on your car.
If you see Z51 on the sticker, you have that option on your car

There are no "Z51" rotors. There are drilled J55 rotors that are part of the Z51 option package "05-'09 and part of the F55 option package '07-'13 and as a stand-alone option '05-'13 on any base C6. GM also refers to them sometimes as Heavy Duty brakes. The standard brakes are JL9 and those rotors are not drilled.
The front calipers are identical for all base C6 cars, but the rears on J55 brakes have a smaller piston than the JL9 brakes. It's not enough in most driving to notice any difference if you used the wrong one, but might in a panic stop. The brackets that hold the calipers are larger on the J55 brakes than the JL9 brakes.
Just installed the Power Stop Z26 a couple of weeks ago on my 07 base and so far they seem fine. I can稚 compare to anything else but they stop better than whatever brand of pads the previous owner put in before I purchased. The rotors look much better than stock and appear to not have any runout. They actually improved a slight vibration that I have been fighting for a while. Good luck
