Default Rick Conti C7 Anouncement in C7 General

Looking just now in C7 General Rick Conti just posted the possible, and likely, 2019 C7 Special Edition will be announced. IMO, as I expressed back on 9/11/2018, if this happens the likelihood that the FE will be gone once the C8 ME happens may be about to occur.

Why do you presume it is a C7? Maybe the 2019 SE is going to be a 2019.5 ME C8

This is the C7 special "final edition" for all those who want front engine and a stick shift.

So tell us all about what your "inside" source says about this Special Edition. Oh wait, he/she had no idea it was coming.

It comes own to the simple fat that GM isn't going to redesign the chassis to fit the A10 unless it is a full redesign; and in that vein, GM isn't going to invest the money needed to certify a 500 hp LT1 for 500 or 1,000 cars in a Special Edition. In the modern world of government regulations, special edition means trim, graphics and colors - it doesn't touch the powertrain or fuel mileage.

Why would you do a 2019 SE well into the 2019 production run... wording seems a litte suspect too. Stranger things have happened. I'm going to get on the horn with a few friends and see if they have anything to say. (Probably not)

The "fat" is that the A10 does not require a redesign of the chassis and GM upgrades engines all the time. In "fat" GM is building a whole new ME Corvette that won't sell even half the volume of the FE C7, especially with the more powerful engine and better transmission.

Let's reflect a bit on C7 "Special Editions:"

2014 - With the intro of the car we had a special "Premier Edition."
2015 - With the intro of the Z06, we had the "C7R Special Edition, and the Stingray had the special "Atlantic" and "Pacific" special editions.
2016 - "Spice Red," Twightlight Blue," and "Jet Black Suede" special editions were unveiled
2017 - GS introduced along with the "Grand Sport Collector Edition."
2018 - "Carbon 65" special edition introduced.
2019 - yep, time for another "special edition" to spur a few more C7 sales.

Yawn . . . non-news.

And since it is going to be revealed at a race, might this be on the special editions?

Oh look, another sticker package. Nothing special at all. Just something to try and sell the remaining junk until the C8 rolls out.

Yep, more paint, stickers and maybe an interior fabric to pump up sales is all this is. GM didn't certify a revised driveline for the C7R, they certainly aren't going to for a last model year C7.
