Default LG Motorsports Carbon XR Intake Install

Here's another project we have going on at the moment.

A customer of ours had his eye on this intake for some time. It was not made to fit a C6Z but he purchased it anyways and said "make it fit." Here we go

The car:

The Intake: Performance Design Carbon XR

The fitment:

It'll take some trimming but we'll make it work.

The big intake tube on the drivers side that feeds the other ones needs to be shortened it does not need to go that far back like the passenger side. This way you would not have to cut that side so much and also interfere with the windshield wiper motor. It would look a little off balance but it would save a lot of cutting on the drivers side.

My concern with doing that would be now you're reducing plenum volume on that side, and the L & R plenums would no longer have the same volume.

So I went the their website and now I’m confused.....it says that intake is made for LS7’s??? 5k is a hefty price tag for 30-50hp.

Fits the LS7 perfect! Provided the engine isn't in the car...

Maybe fits on a Z/28 Camaro? I'm thinking no though.

Just slam the hood real hard, it’ll go around the intake.

No really, like MTP I have been waiting for someone to use an intake design like this and the Harrop. I know it will either be a cut up hood or a hood with a pretty big cowl. Either way.. looking forward to seeing the results and finished product

I'm working with Joe on trying another product of theirs, but they usually have on the website that these inakes won't fit late model cars due to engine compartment restraints.

Hammer, Sawzall, Hey, Who cares about fitment, it looks cool...
Pretty sure my shop would laugh at me if I came in their with that. What the customer wants the customer gets.. Will follow this thread for end results.

ls7 head ports. Has nothing to do with a car. It is only stating what type and style ports it fits. C6z people get caught thinking ls7=c6z.

Update:

Still needs a little cleaning up around the edges. The windshield was not touched. The hood was made locally and the owner plans on having a new version made once we're finished.

Very interesting to see this fitting. How about Mr Wiper assembly? The cowl hood will be big.

He already has our carbon fuel rail covers. We'll trim those to fit first. At that point he'll decide whether or not he'll go with carbon valve covers.
