Costar Bluestar II Anyone use one of these?
Hi all!!!
Has anyone used a Costar Bluestar II for Blue Tooth on a 2005 - 2013 Corvette?
I know its $280 and streams mono unless I route audio to my Aux port.
Im trying to figure out whether to upgrade the Steering wheel to Just Audio Controls or Audio and Voice.
I know the audio controls work with added wiring just wonder if it will answer a blue toothed phone?
Can You answer the phone with Steering Wheel Controls if installed?
I have an 05 with Factory Nav updated to a 2012 Nav Head, XM Radio, Factory Onstar and built in phone.
Any help would be Awesome!

I have no experience with one in a C6, but I did put one in a 08 Cobalt for my wife. The call quality was good, and the instillation was pretty easy, but the user interface (it used the OnStar controls in the mirror) was confusing. All in all I would put the purchase price toward an aftermarket HU for your car.

I had one , you could answer the phone using the steering wheel controls but had to use the mirror or the phone to hang up
also an 05 BCM does not support staring wheel controls

Can the BCM be upgraded? What about the right side music controls the wiring goes straight to the Nav Head and I have a 2012 Nav Head?

No and no ... there are no wires to connect to in the head unit , all corvettes use the Canbus to communicate between modules and the 05 bus does not support the controls

BlueStar was garbage. Phone wouldn’t automatically connect and sound quality was poor. I went with an aftermarket headunit with Bluetooth and I’m much happier.

Don't want an aftermarket No HUD info for turns or music. I want my Corvette to work, Many people say the Bluestar II is good?

My bluestar works as it should. It's not as good as any of my cars with factory systems but it does the job it's meant too without much fuss.
There may be better options now but there wasn't Year's ago when I got it.
One thing that helps is changing the factory mic for a newer one. It was improved in later years from my 07. I don't remember what year it changed but a search would probably tell you.
