Hans vs no Hans
I got this video in an email today and it's probably the best example I've seen of using a Han's with a 6 point harness and not. https://hookedondriving.us19.list-ma...c&e=94d18e601b

Ah that makes me cringe. No harnesses without a HANS! I honestly don't feel comfortable in a car anymore if I'm not in a proper harness with my helmet & HANS.

Yeah that's difficult to watch. Great video showing the differences, I'm sure the driver will from here on out always have a Hans device installed.

I agree. I held my breath until he looked back up. I think the factory 3 point harness is safer than a 6 point without the Hans. With the Hans though I think the 6 point is the way to go.

Here are a couple of videos that show the differences.

There is value in wearing the HANS with a 3 point belt as well. A properly cinched 3 point system will restrain upper body forward movement just about as well as a race harness that means an unrestrained head will be subject to the same forces. The only thing that might help is if the air bag goes off. That is why the Simpson Hybrid comes in a model that is made to work with 3 point belts.

I agree. I purchased a Simpson hybrid when I first started driving in hpde's. I still use it with my 6 point harness and encourage anyone riding with me to wear one as well.

Look ma, no Hans!

For Christmas, I got myself a HANS hybrid for 3 point harness. Too expensive, but I am strict with safety.
