UPDATE: Front left tire came off
Well guys just got it back after 51 days. New fender, mag wheel, lug nuts wheel locks. New lower control arm, etc. New rotors both sides heavy duty brake disk. Paint is matched perfect, the whole car was blended. I have the shop ticket and everything came to $7,100 and change. Insurance comp check too. Dealer took it up the shorts on this one, yes its reported on the car fax as light damage. If I every sell it, which I won't. I have all the proof of loose lug nuts coming off from dealer service. I am happy. Polish time this week.

Nice to hear it all worked out for you and that the dealer stepped up.
Sounds lime you are like me. I don't care at all what my car is worth because my kids will be the ones selling it when I croak.
Nothing but fun now. Get that thing out and drive!!!

Sorry, but the post gives me more questions than congratulations.
What happened? How did you lose a wheel?
Why was the car grounded for so long for this type of repair?
I am glad you're on the road.

Yeah, I don't know what happened to the original post, but as he stated, a GM tech did not tighten the nuts on the wheel, and it came off while driving. Dealer assumed full responsibility. That is the summary of the original post, I think. IIRC, he just bought it, and was having a complete service done before delivery. Really a screw-up by the tech...probably no longer employed there.,

Looks like it came out great.
Make sure you save the pics and repair list as a potential buyer would likely want to see that. I know I would.

Glad you're ok and the car is now fine. After reading the original thread again, that was a horror. As EVRose said, it was just luck that you didn't get on the highway and was doing 70 mph!
I've mentioned this occasionally but I used to know a tech at an indie shop who used to walk around any car he was finishing up and it looked like "a dance." He'd have wrenches and screwdrivers and he'd be tightening, testing, every single thing he'd touched. Not once, but twice or more. It really looked like a dance of some sort. I asked him why he did this, and his answer was, he never wanted to leave something hanging, or loose or worst of all, missing. Good luck to you in the future with your now, completely repaired Corvette!

WoW! You took it into the dealer and they didn't tighted the Lugnuts? That is crazy. Glad things worked out! Damn, that had to be some scary crap!
Edit. Read what buckmeister said. Damn that happened when you bought the car and they were prepping it for you?

Of course, my example goes back many years to another hi po car that I used to take off the couple hours to go to the dealer. And I would watch the service tech (then, he was called "mechanic"). I remember turning away for about 5 minutes on that Friday my car was worked on. That's all it took. That night, out on a fairly fast but crowded highway (the Gowanus), I accelerated heavily and the steering just about went out of control. I pulled off, and saw three of the five lugnuts were so loose they were about to come off and two were almost as loose.
So, I truly understand the OP's story about the dealership.

Glad everything worked out! This just reinforces my lack of confidence in having work done by someone else. We've had some bad experiences with some dealers. For example, we took out new car to a dealer (not a Vette) to make sure warranty was covered. Had to drive 95 miles one way to do it. After we got home, the next day I noticed a bit of oil under the car. Oil filter and drain plug was barely hand tight----amazing we didn't lose everything on the way home----- Have found the same with lug nuts, overfilled oil, and more---- I've gotten lazy about rechecking work from mechanics and in doing more work myself--I'll have to get back to it. Thanks for sharing.
