Does winter make you appreciate your Vette more?
I have been thinking about this as it's obviously winter here in NY and the car has been put away for a few months now. Does having to put your car away for the winter make you appreciate her more when you are able to get her out again? OR do you think it's more of an inconvenience not being able to enjoy your Vette whenever you want?
Me personally I am giddy as a school girl getting my car out for the first time in the spring. I certainly wouldn't have that feeling if I was able to drive the car year round. What does everyone think? Not trying to say you southern folk don't enjoy your car every time you drive it but to me that first drive in the spring is sublime. I still enjoy hopping in the car during the summer but it's not the same as that first spring drive. I'm also not sure the southern people can even understand that feeling unless they had to put their car away or couldn't drive it for 5-6 months. Thoughts?

I drive my '88 year-around so dislike winter as it limits the little "projects" that can be done.
That said, the power increase due to cold, dry air is a bit of a "perk"...

Here in Ohio, the weather has been brutal cold and snow abound. Seeing my Corvette sitting in the garage and not being able to drive it when I want does bother me. Spring time, its like a familiar visit with an old friend. I look forward to that.

I like the way you put it. That first springs drive is one of the best feelings IMO.

Never goes into full hibernation down here, the time change into DST is what makes me want to drive it more.

But at least we don't live in Erie Pa or Buffalo N.Y. and have to endure their infamous snow storms when Lake Erie is not froze over.

Drove it today here in Mass. 30 degrees, rained washed the salt away so took it to work. The stock 85 with 155K does not like the cold morning start but once it warms up runs like a top again.

YES.
Especially when my winter beater is a '95 legacy wagon. Relatively speaking, it makes the 'Vette feel like a fire-breathing monster, come spring.

Yes and No. Half the time I forget I even have it when its winter time. When its car season though I am happy it is there and I can drive it daily and finally park my truck.

No. I drive my c4 in winter, but I dont drove my c6 as much. It doesnt make me appreciate that car more, it makes me feel stupid having a bunch of money tied up in something I dont want to drive a good part of the year.

Drove it in the cold (below 20) once. When a stock 84 goes sideways on dry pavement just trying to pass someone at 45, it's time to put it away for the winter. However in Jersey we generally get march - November so I ain't complaining. May - October is top off weather to boot. And if I get that random nice day I do take it out. The salt doesn't even bother me so much as the brine does. That just gets everywhere.

I miss taking my cars out during the winter time. If we have a warm day I always go for a ride, but other than that I just use the down time in winter to handle the maintenance items that have come up during the driving season. Maybe even a few new mods to the coupe. I'm looking forward to that first warm spring day!

Southern Colorado.... I can drive my car year round... So yes and no.... Our snowfalls are pretty minimal around here and with very low humidity, its off the roads in a day anyway. However, once it does snow, the sand trucks drop what they call sand, but its more like small pebbles.... SOOO, I have to wait to drive the Vette at least until they clean the streets off or most of the gravel has worked its way off the main streets. I just picked up an older 5 series BMW for my winter car, but its in such great shape I dont like taking it out in the snow either....
