Default Stains on underhood insulation - am I the only one?

Now that enough time has passed I'm wondering if anyone has come up with a solution to the ongoing problem of stains, water or not on the underhood insulation of the C7.
I cant believe I'm the only one having trouble with this. I have cleaned it in the past with Simple Green. It just keeps coming back. The car is four years old with 16,000 miles.
Help! if there is any !!!!!! It is a Z-51 if that matters.

I’ve read others complain about the same thing so you are not the only one. No solution I know of except to not let water get into the hood vent...good luck with that.

Clean it and have it ceramic coated.

Yeah, why not? It will prevent the water from being able to absorb into the insulation.

Unless I'm checking the oil mine is never open so I don't know how it looks - don't care - 84,000 miles and climbing.....

I never thought about applying ceramic coating to a porous material. If it would work then great.

It would definitely work, I'm not sure if its the same product as what you use on paint but I know they make ceramic coating for fabrics/interiors of cars.

Due to high pressure water blown in to intake, soap stains. I was putting band aids on it by using Back to Black bumper treatment. It is in one of those liquid shoe polish dispensers. Played with it a while and faded the color in with a small sponge and didn't look perfect but make it look a lot better. I finally bought a aftermarket one that had airbrushed emblem and obviously clear coated.
Another thing to avoid is not to spray pressured soapy water in to the hood intake.

I masked off the insulation and sprayed it with a rattle can of semi flat black enamel. Looks like new. Not sure if it will prevent reoccurrence of stain, but has lasted a year.

Looks like water stains, there's no stopping the serpentine belt from flinging water all over the hood liner. I suppose you could never let it get wet, never drive in the rain ect …

Take the liner off, clean it up as best you can, spray some flat black BBQ grille paint on it then clear coat it. That should help keep it clean for quite a while.

I'd hate to sound callous, but they're less than $200 ea. If yours is stained to the point of "no amount of cleaning" will help, I'd buy a new one (PN 23489883) and have it scotch guard treated before install.
