The CTSY/LAMP fuse supplies battery voltage to the body control module (BCM). The BCM applies battery voltage to the underhood lamp through the courtesy lamp supply voltage circuit. When the hood is opened, its switch closes providing a ground circuit, and the underhood lamp illuminates.

Should be at the instrument panel BCM fuse box

That diagram is on page 5-88 of the 2005 Owner's manual. Right hand side, 2nd fuse down from "RUN/CRANK". (See below)

Vette_DD.

I'm not sure which is more magical: The fact you gave an answer from the OM (which is downloadable for every year. ) or that I can only see the diagram on a reply to your post (not your actual post)?

eta: never mind, I see you edited it and add the diagram.

I downloaded each year's owner's manual each year, so I had the 2005 owner's manual on my desktop computer. But I spent a few minutes looking at the 2 fuse box illustrations without finding anything labeled as being for the underhood lamp. Then, when C6ToGo provided the info. for which fuse it was, I edited my post.

I had 2 05s, an 06, an 08, and an 012, so several of the ower's manuals were downloaded for myself.

I guess I wasn't clear. While you were editing (minutes? seconds?), when I was replying, and I could see the diagram, but not in your original post. It was odd, to say the least. That coupled with a RTFM (implication ), I guess, my humor was lost in there.

Not everyone gets my sense of humor
