Dipstick tube re-install
So, I dumbed out again. Went to check the oil and the entire dipstick tube came out. I can not tell where it goes into the block. How does it go back into the block, and is it do-able from the top with headers installed?

It's just a press fit; find it, push it all the way in.
Yes, with headers is fine.
Bolt it in place!

As grant said, it's supposed to be bolted in place. Fix that after you get it stabbed back in.
I tried to get a picture for you but it's too tight in there. The tube goes in the block just ahead of the starter. In between the starter and the right hand motor mount. Make sure your 0-ring is still good.
If you have to take the right front wheel off you can get just right and see the hole in the block where it goes.

This is NOT my picture (google search) and not your exact installation but the location of the hole in the block is where it's at. Also how it's bolted to the cylinder head will be similar unless you have an early car then the tube will be bolted to the exhaust manifold. With Headers it can vary if you have headers on your car.

My dipstick is attached to the exhaust manifold.

mine is bolted to the side of the head with a 15mm bolt but it is attached right above cylinder 4, you can see the bolt hole near that cylinder in the pic above... the dipstick tube in that pic does look a little odd, like it's been bent to make it fit

I'm thinking it's going to be the wheel removal method. Will the inner fender need to come off as well?

If you get the car up on ramps, high enough to crawl underneath, you can see where the dipstick tube goes into the block without taking anything apart. Look just in front of the passenger side exhaust manifold collector, behind the motor mount, right in front of the starter. Just as folks already mentioned before my post. It’s a relatively easy thing to spot. If you can’t see it, you can most certainly feel for it.
I have a 00 FRC, but converted to a late model (01-04) dipstick/dipstick tube when I installed headers. Mine mounts to the cylinder heads also. Which is where it should mount. Pre 01 tubes mounted to a threaded flange on the manifold primary. Here is a picture of mine from up top. If yours is just “floating”. Something is certainly not right.

Got it back in. Pulled off two of the plug wires and could see the hole. Thanks for the help!

and bolted it back down? You would wind up with a horrendous oil leak if that come loose while driving it.
