Default Sway bar question

Hi everyone! I am new to the forum and the Corvette world. I just dipped my toe in and picked up a 2001 Base Convertible, Magnetic Red. It has about 60K miles on it and the normal small things wrong that an 18 year old car might have.

One of the things I noticed was that the sway bar bushings are cracking a bit. I want to get new bushings but I cant tell the diameter of the bar. Does anyone know the diameter of the stock sway bars?

Thanks.

Like forum lots to learn.

Make sure you replace the plastic factory end links with good ones.

Thanks for the info and advice. I think Rock Auto has the end links at a pretty good price also. That's where I will get the bushings from also. Or I may try to find a used pair of beefier ones that will fit also

Change those sway bars to the stiffer C6 bars front and rear.. with new bushings and metal end links on rear you'll be so happy with the planted "cornering" feel, without the "body role" present with OEM sways.

Congrats. I picked up my mag red 01 vert with 60k a few years back. I swapped the sway bar end links to the metal link, did the shocks and poly bar bushings all at once and it made a huge ride/handling improvement. I will be replacing the bars with C6 Z51 bars as another upgrade.

When you do upgrade I will buy your old ones. If you want to sell them. I want to do these upgrades but I am on a budget and will do things a little at a time.

Sure thing. My car is still in storage for the winter so it will be a little while before I swap the bars. I would still look at the metal end links. And those shocks are expired. C6Z06 shocks are $240 or so.

Changed my bushings and links on my Z51 99. Place called Auto Shak had great prices on the end links. Used amazon for the prothane bushings for speed of delivery. About $120 all told. $230 for Z06 shocks made for great upgrades under $500. Congratulations on the car. Hope you upgraded your credit card😜

Default Z51 Sway Bar PN's?

Did a quick search, but did not find the part numbers for the C6 Z51 bars. Anyone have them handy? Thanks in advance.
