My 66 Vette headlights work well, but I'd like to improve their performance. Has any one tried the conversion LED lights? I've been looking at headlightexperts.com/ledlights. They are affordable but I'm wondering if anyone has experience with them.

I put LED headlights in mine before some of the "cheap seat" conversions started appearing (e.g. motorcycle headlight swaps)...
I'm happy with them: These are plug and play but I only did the low beams..

Thank you Dennis. I'm new to this and am having a difficult time learning to negotiate the search. Sometimes it's easier for me to just google my search and it comes right back to the Forum. Glad it's here for me to learn.

I recently ordered 2 semi sealed beam H-4 lens for 19.00 and 2 motorcycle LED lights for 20.00. The LEDs fit the lens and the lens fit the buckets with no problems. I haven't driven at night yet but they are definitely brighter! I just ordered the low beams. From the research I did, if you use the LEDs with 4-5 "sides" you won't have the dead or dark spot people complain about. I'll know or sure when I drive at night. Which I try not to do:-)

If the LEDs you choose shine up into other drivers' eyes you have a problem - select carefully...

The thread also recommends using the search which he may have looked at and may be referring to.. More often then not most new members do not know enough to ID who they are referring to. It is a learning curve.

They are the VC4000 5.75" LED Lo-Beam headlight kit - search for "Vintage Car LEDs" and the supplier will pop up in Google....
They are not cheap, but the only real plug-and-play option at the time I bought them...
98% of my driving is with lo beams so that's fine and I've driven with them enough now to know that oncoming drivers have no issue with them.

Thanks to FTF for actually posting it.

The search function on this site blows, so the old timer default answer of “use the search function” is obnoxious and a clear manifestation of why people think C2 folks are grumpy old sods.

yep, on all counts.

Also FWIW if I am looking for something that may be archived in the forum here I go to my browser and google search “corvette forum c2” and whatever my keywords are.

This forum usually comes up first and with multiple threads stacked neatly. The built in forum search tool in contrast is as bad as Matt says it is. Very cumbersome.

The search function on the forum is not quite that awful... The more restrictive you can make the search by subject, author, regular expression, time and forum section the better the results...

I use it 98% of the time, but then I grew up in IT as the first primitive search engines evolved...

In addition to my vette, I often drive my Mini S and with both cars sitting quite low, I get very annoyed by those who've chosen to swap LED bulbs into reflective lenses designed for incandescent elements and don't care how blinding they are to others. That being said, I did the very same thing with my FJ Cruiser and have adjusted the beam down quite low to minimize blinding other drivers. I went through about a dozen different bulb designs before settling on the ones that had the best focus.

If you notice the first picture in post #12 the outboard, lo beam LED lights look shaded on the bottom half. That is because that part of the bulb (which reflects the beam upward) is designed to "cut off" at the height that would blind oncoming drivers...

One of the key reasons I went with this more expensive brand...
