GOAT - C5 General
Who should be named as the Greatest Of All Time for C5 General?
There are several CF members that have gone above and beyond to contribute to C5 General, past and present, that should be recognized.
I’ll start - Toque
I still use his C5 knowledge posted here to this very day.

I've learned a lot from Toque, as well. His how-to articles on his page are excellent.

As a relative newb here that's a tough call.
I've been a member on no less then about 50 forums in the last 20 years and fairly active on a bunch of those. Not to mention I've been working on cars for about 30 years now and helicopters for 25.
I have learned more about these cars in such a short amount of time compared to probably any other car on any other forum out there. That's a huge testament to the people of this forum.
I don't personally have a favorite for GOAT (Ricky Carmichael is the goat) at this time.
Some that stick out in my mind would be
Bill Curlee
ET
Jack
GCG
C5 Diag
Nuetron85 I think it is,
I may have messed some of their names up.
Probably a hundred more I could thank on searches that come up with fantastic information.
I'm speaking both on behalf of troubleshooting and modifying.

For me, there are too many helpful and valued contributors to rank.
I am thankful that this forum has so many members that are happy to share their knowledge for the rest of us to use...........many have saved my butt many times over. ;^)

This is what I think.
Many of us have been here for a long time, many of us are uniquely qualified to give expert information. When I got sick, and had a very grim prognosis, I notice that so many others were good contributors to this forum and thought it would be in good hands with a couple dozen genuinely equipped to carry on the help aspect here. While I am honored to be among those listed, there are just too many people who have, over the years been very instrumental to this forum.
When I first came here after retiring, I was getting 100 + private messages a day, This was an almost every day occurrence until the C6 came out, I never went to bed without answering every private massage. spending as much as ten hours a day doing so. I became very friendly with Patches and Bill C among others. Guys Like Mr. Bill who is sorely missed. Guys like tobacco, and mean green have all moved on but gave their all every minute they were here. This is a nice thread but there are just too many contributor to single out a few. after all it has always been our mission, Patches Bil and myself and others to share information unselfishly to people who would share that information with others.
AS a point to make, Ive seen many newbies post word for word ( a cut and Paste ) from directions advice and guidance I have given here. Many times these cut and paste are posted as if they were their own advice. Ive seen stuff posted by Patches and Bill C that some one else called their own. I use to take offense at the plagiarism, but realized that maybe these people were not trying to steal thunder but to just offer something they picked up here and book marked it.
Thank you for the honorable mention but we are all in good company here.

I don't think there is any one person that can be called the GOAT of the C5 section...all of those mentioned above have played a big role for sure...

Hmmnnnn…...I think pretty much everyone gives advice here on the forum, some not so good advice though. One that seems to know his C5 advice well is Evil Twin. When he types, I read. Another vote from the past would be Toque. He has some good write-ups: http://www.toquez06.com/z06index.html
