Mag Ride
I ordered my 2LT stingray 2019 2 weeks ago. Got everything I wanted including NPP exhaust. I forgot to add mag ride and I can't add it to the order now. Kinda bummed, but is it really worth having? Can someone convince me itll be okay that I didnt get it? I wont track the car. I will use it for daily / spirited driving ofcourse.
Appreciate all comments. Obviously, I know itll be better with mag ride but do most ppl end of getting it or not?

Honest answer? You messed up.

It’s very nice to have but since you won’t have it you really won’t have a comparison. The ride without it is firm but not harsh. It will feel like a sports car should.

Just emailed the dealer at Kerbeck to see if any way to add it. Probably wont happen. Thx for feedback.

I bought my used 2014 in 2016, and it didn’t include the mag ride. In Touring and Sport mode, the car is not too harsh, and not as stiff as the Z51 suspension. If I had done better research about the mag ride, I would have tried to find a car with it. I would have absolutely wanted it on a Z51, but I don’t have many regrets with the not being on the Stingray. You should be fine.

Agreed you will be fine, but i will say it is probably one of the best options you can get on these cars. I would not have bought mine if it didn't have that option. I put it up there with the manual transmission. One of those things I wasn't going to compromise on.

I've driven these cars with and without. You'll be fine. If you don't track it, you won't yearn for it. I didn't get it on mine after driving a C7 with it. The track and sport mode were too stiff for me. So if I would have had it, it would be set to tour all the time. On the plus side without it, you can run in track mode and you can get the advanced throttle and shifting without jarring your rear molars out of your head.
But again it is all preference and I understand why those that have it want it and enjoy it.

You will never miss it on the base Stingray, the ride is fine.

When I ordered my 2014 Z51 3LT (which I still own) I checked all the boxes, including mag ride, because I had just come into some unexpected cash and figured why the heck not, get the best of everything. Since I hadn't driven a high performance car in many years due to family obligations I was a little over exuberant after I first got the car and came into an unexpected almost 90 degree turn way way too hot....I was sure I was going to hit the guard rail, but she turned with no body roll like she was on rails! I would never own another sports car without MRC.

I have the mag ride on my z51 and it's nice, but on a base car I don't think you'll miss it much in terms of performance. The eLSD and PTM modes on the z51 do more to enhance performance than the mag ride which is more useful if you intend to both track the car and also use it on a regular basis for normal driving. The mag ride is nice in that situation because you can have a comfortable, smooth ride in tour mode for regular driving and then switch to the PTM modes for stiff suspension and aggressive track driving. It's almost like having two cars in one because with the turn of a dial you can change the suspension characteristics quite a bit.
The only thing you'll miss by not having mag ride in normal day-to-day driving is the way the magnetic shocks eliminate the bounce/rebound you feel after hitting a patch of uneven pavement. With mag ride you still feel the initial patch of uneven pavement, but the secondary bounce/rebound is completely gone which really helps settle the car quickly when you are pushing it. I haven't driven one without mag ride though so I can't say how much extra rebound there is with the regular suspension compared to the mag ride.
That's the long way of saying I don't think you'll miss the mag ride given the way you plan to use the car.

A fine world class sportscar with or without so no need to stress.

Find out from your dealer what's the $ hit to do a redo? On a $60K +/- car, a couple grand penalty is nothing to get exactly what you want/ed....when spending that much jack.😨
As a practical matter, I can tell you that I have little use for the MSRC on my base C7 Stingray, but I refused to compromise in not getting it on my new C7. I can also tell you that I have no idea how a new, base, non-MSRC C7 Stingray rides. Never been in one.
..If I ever find myself running from the police in my Stingray, I'll select MSRC Track mode. But since I don't drive with aggression as many members here report their driving styles to be, it remains in Tour.

OP, had it on my c6; seldom used it or changed settings.
On my GS (and Z06), you really need it or as others have said, the ride in Sport or Track will be harsh - esp on Midwest crap roads. I drive 75% in Tour (base setting). Many suspect that the wheel (bends, cracks) issues on GS/Z06 is due to the stiffer programs coupled with the low profile run craps and cheap-assed cast aluminum wheels.
You're good. Chill. You will love the car. If you want to stiffen it in the future, larger sway bars and coil-overs are always an option. Congrats!

Mine has it but I wouldn't have ordered it if the car didn't already have it. If the mag ride ever goes south, pricey to repair. My stingray I ordered didn't have it and car was much more comfortable to drive in my opinion.

You don't need it. If I could have not gotten it on my GS I would be happy. It works fine but I leave it in Touring 99% of the time. Track setting is silly for the street.
