Spot welds and all ! It's got a pretty nifty photo of the body off with a restored chassis and drivetrain but then look at the photo of the instrument cluster. That looks like it hasn't been touched since 1974.

That is the correct tach. I asked the seller to explain the VIN tag and his reply was "I mixed up pics with my 64 I’ll take care of it".

I thought the lower hp BB's had a 6,000 red line?

The L-36 used the same tach as the base engine.

Guess it's been too many years since I had a BB. Seeing that I sold it in 1970, I'll accept what's said here rather than my fuzzy memories!

you sure about that. The L36 and L79 used the same tach. While the base 327/300 used a lower red line

In 66 the base motor and the 390 horse use the same tachometer. There have been some documented cases were some 66 390 horse cars had a 6000 RPM tach.

Appears to me the seller is trying to do the right thing...still, due diligence is always required. Might be a good value here.

That's a 40K at the most, 'put together' car. I'm no expert but I can see about 25 things that are wrong or f'd up. Then again.......there's always a sucker out there so they say.
