Which dealers are promising MSRP for those with a deposit?
I've contacted a couple at this point and either receive a vague answer or no answer at all.
Anyone know which dealers are actually planning to sell at MSRP? I've seen MacMulkin an Kerbeck on here but havent seen this question answered. Figured we could maybe use this thread to get a list going.

I must be an idiot. I payed List for one of the first C7 Stingrays, Same on the C7 ZO6 , and C7 ZR1. Will probably wind up paying list for the "High HP C8" When it arrives. But i did get a real kick out of being one of the first. Seeing the smiles on peoples face when they get to check the car out and maybe haven't seen one yet. I also run a business and can make more money taking care of business than spending hours trying to get the cheapest deal possible. Convenience is worth $$ to me. I like having something that is a little unique for at least a little while. I also find it odd that you would think someone paying list is an idiot. That's just plan rude. My wife and I run a successful small business in Texas. We employ 60 people . We pay our taxes and help move the economy forward just like thousands of other small business around the country. We donate to charity and help our kids out. Hard to believe an idiot is capable of all of that. Maybe I am one of those idiot Savants. I don't know. I just think guys like you are the ones taking the fun out of this forum and others. It cant be a place to share ideals and cool things. It has to be a place where people are rude to each other and just be jerks. I suppose i would rather be an Idiot than a jerk. I think people may like idiots better than jerks. Just a thought.

The three top dealers have all stated in writing that they will charge MSRP. Thanks Kerbeck, MacMulkin and Criswell! You never charged over sticker during the last few generations — even for limited production versions. Well done.
Sure there will be others announcing that later (and could well be I missed some who have also so stated).

The C8 will be hot for a while, and it will bring in demand from “non traditional corvette” buyers such as myself. I don’t have a crystal ball but I’d imagine those that get the car early on could potentially drive it a few years with relatively little depreciation.

Anyone that doesn’t value time is the real idiot. Those that prefer to wait a few years to get the C8 at a discount fail to realize that’s when the cars will start to depreciate considerably.

Melting Slicks
I have always bought a year 1 or 2 new generation Corvette and then a second (or third) as the generation evolved - naturally the biggest discount was on the later car, but in the interim I had an early car to enjoy.
Also, keep in mind, sometimes MSRP is a discount - with C7, 4 months into production the base price increased $2,000, so the people who ordered C7 before 2/1/14 were locked into the cheaper price. I have a deposit in with a forum dealer, and expect (unless the car doesn't suit my needs) to have my C8 by mid-May 2020, allowing me to enjoy it during year 1.

If I like it and decide its a go, I'm wondering which dealers will offer the GM family discount first. I had to wait until February 2005 for a C6 before a dealer close to me accepted it. I get the feeling this time it may take longer...

Mike Furman at Criswell has been taking pre-orders at MSRP for a long time. You can contact him to get on his list.

You do know that the C7 is now in it's 6th year of production, not two months old? Oh, and most of it's performance competitors are twice or three times the list price of the Corvette.

I like that dealers are willing to sell a hot new model without markup at MSRP.....but what will that number be?? Rarely do dealers order stripped down base versions of a hot new model. I would think that it is going to be hard to find a C8 with less than a $75k-80k MSRP for at least 12 months.
I hope I'm wrong.

There's the inflation of price factor to consider. 2014 base model, no options, at msrp would have had you paying $51,995. 2019 base model, no options, at 15% off would have you paying $48,445. About a 7% difference. So you would have wasted/waited 5 years, and saved $3500 just so you could say you didn't pay full price, and got the greatest discount on the model?
