Default Air Bags ME safety new C8

Has any one information on how a Mid Engine car is going to protect the occupants from a head on collision ? In my last to car accidents foreign and domestic the air bags did not deploy.

Crumple zones, just like any other car.

Even in front engine cars the engine is designed to drop down out of the way during a collision so it doesn't get forced back and crush you. I would think it would be even safer to not have an engine up there to begin with...

You think a front engine car is safer in a head on collision because the engine is there

I would be more curious what kind of response my attorney got from the automakers re: air bags not deploying

Since you used accident"S". Maybe driving isn't your thing. Let me guess, all your accidentS are from being rear ended.

Air bags vs seat belts.
Add a helmet.
I'd say that would setup would reduce insurance medical costs and injuries.
But the helmet does ruin my mistresses hair styling so no go.

But in response to OP
Location of crash sensors and angle of impact.
C8 Vette will deploy air bags as well as others car.
Why the skepticism?

Why airbags don't deploy?
Perhaps used car, stolen air bag and light bulb removal trickery, lack of system maintenance, modifications, faulty untestable part, maybe more, plus repeating, more than likely the impact angle to the sensor.

Rear ended twice from a stand still. I have been in no accidents with others but prior to air bags bounced of a few wind shields , the worst was in a 56 chevrolet bel air convertible power pack motor with a floor shift. I used to do a lot of donuts in my car at high school and my year book refers me as a car nut but air bags at the expense we pay have not worked for my wife or me.

Be sure to order it without air bags then.

Are you SERIOUSLY wondering WHY the FRONT airbags didn't deploy in a rear end accident ?

I have no engine in the front but I am pretty confident that airbags will deploy in the event of a significant front-end collision...

Empty a couple of cans of expandable foam in the storage in the front or add a large water jug.

Then how do they work ? What does the curtain air bags do? Do the C7 have curtain air bags? Is there knee air bags in a C7? Hey get hit any where and you will wish they deployed .

Airbags are "smart" these days. They go off when the sensor programming tells them to. The C7 has airbags in the seat for side impacts. As I posted in your other thread it would be harmful for the occupants and jack up repair costs for all airbags to go off in all impact situations. As for your question about front impact safety sans engine... I suggest you read the NHTSA reports on Tesla crash testing.

If this is a serious question, front bags deploy when fired by sensors located on the front of the car. Side curtain bags are deployed by sensors located on the side of the car.

The 2020 ME will perform excellent in terms of safety. Not concerned in the slightest.
