"One of a kind" does not equal "attractive" or "desirable."

BTW, a '65 did not come with a 283, but a 327 so the car is a downgrade, plus the 4 wheel disc brakes are standard, so hardly a feature.

Since the pennies are worth about 1 cent each, their value is a couple of dollars, or more cost to remove than their resale, plus a total body refinish is required, since the adhesive likely wrecked the fiberglass finish.

It would cost a large fortune to make that car worth a small fortune.

Pass.

Well, aside from the paint and bumpers - a 283 in a 65 with a 427 hood?

I’ve seen that before and occasionally a car covered in Velour. I remember a Ford covered in purple suede or Velour as a trade in on my Dad’s lot back in the 60s.

That's one of those that you park it up front at Walmart, leave the keys in the ignition, a cold beer on the passenger seat, a full tank of gas, make sure insurance is paid up and pray. Now, if those are indian head pennies, that's a different story.

I think the value depends on the pennies used. If they were all 1909-S VDB pennies then I'm all in!

I remember that stuff. I think it was applied by some kind of electronic process. I lived about 4 blocks from drag racer Al Joniec's shop. In the late 60's he was match racing an A/FX altered wheelbase 65 Mustang, that was covered in blue fuzz and named "The Hairy One". There was also a guy who ran around here in a VW beetle, that had flames on it done in that fuzzy material.

The fuzz would be an big improvement over the penny's!

The owner is obviously trying to emulate our recently departed friend, Roy Braatz's '55 in a C2.

Covering a car in pennies should only be done to a Lincoln

I know that car and it's owner, we lived in the same town. I don't think he would appreciate me 'doxing' him here.
I bought a nice '65 vert door from him, it's on the Black Car. He's got lots of car parts in several barns/outbuildings, mostly GM stuff.
My understanding is the 'Penny Vette' started as a charity that didn't make it. Aside from the exterior I believe it's a very original 250hp Powerglide car, not really a highly desirable combo but it's still a Sting Ray.

Your pal should give the car the once over with some Brasso and I bet it would shine like a new - well -- you know...

Please - somebody make me stop
