Random bolt sticking out of my LS3
Got rid of my 06 vert and got the 12 grand sport. This thing is a beast!!
So I just got a 12 grand sport... love it!!! Anyone know what this random bolt is sticking out? It’s on the right side just in front of the head cover.

Welcome, and I think it would help everyone with some pictures from the outside of the car
I have a 2012 as well, I will have to look at mine when I go out. That doesn't seem like it should be like that. Looks like Oh Boys just has the threads on his and nothing in it. Will see if mine has a bolt in there. Maybe someone found one a missing bolt, and then saw that and figured it had to go there?

Stick shift car? My guess is someone added it to have somewhere easier to use the ground part of a battrry tender.

I think that is where you attach the flux capacitor actually. It is option Code FC1. Just look in the glove box to see if it was included with the car. Maybe they took it off and left the security bolt in place.

Yup .... That hole with the bolt is in the right side of the water pump. The belt tensioner is right above it and the housing for the water pump thermostat is just to the lower right of the bolt.
BTW ... That engine photo that "Oh Boy" posted looks to have been in a salt water air environment (corrosion).

The threaded hole is in the water pump and it's probably used in another application like the Camaro that use the same water pump. My LS2 water pump doesn't have this mounting hole.
