Don’t go for a 500 mile drive down the interstate at 65 mph. Very your speeds and acceleration in different gears. Better to stay in the burbs, and around town. Jmo

Nothing more than the 500 mile breakin process detailed in the manual.

Vary your speed and don’t let rpm’s go into the yellow zone. That “zone” will disappear from your tach at 500 miles.

I agree! For example if driving on Interstate don't drive an hour at 70mph, vary your speed/RPMs.
Also, take it easy on your brakes. Allow extra stopping distance, avoiding fast sudden stops

Yes, I am in the middle of mine as well right now, drive it as much as possible!!! I can't wait to get it out of the break-in (mine is at 1500 miles according to the manual) so her and I can get to know one another

Not really. Today's modern engines with synthetic oil are pretty bullet proof. If you got a bad engine, it's going to break no matter how you drive it.

yeah the key is just dont drone on down the road at the same/constant rpm and/or speed. mix it up. speed up, slow down, work up and down thru the gears, etcetc. generally speaking, the highway is one of the worst places to be during break-in. give it some gas once in a while, you want those piston rings to seat nicely but mostly gentle is best.

Its all in your manual, not sure why you need to ask on a forum where you will get a variety of answers.

Also remember that it's not just the engine that's breaking in but the rear end, transmission, brakes, etc. So that's another reason not to beat on it super hard at first.

I thought I was having memory lapses but I re-read my 2019's manual and it does not mention the oil change on the non-Z51 cars, however, I am still planning to do one on mine.

Most importantly, don't leave an unsecured child restraint seat in the vehicle. Seems like a weird place to put this warning.

I too am in the break in process of my '19 GS. I am just driving a combo of rural and urban roads and no long interstate travel. Keeping it below 4000 RPM and easy braking.
