C8 will hit market in 2020... does 2019 remind anyone of 1999?
Dot.com IPO’s aplenty; bevy of new silicon valley overnight billionaires; stock markets making all-time highs. You got it: 1999..... oh, and 2019... I’m not in the game of being a market sooth sayer, it’s a fools errand, but it’s hard to overlook some similarities between 1999 and now, the year proceeding the dot.com crash(and with it everything else). But while initial public offerings today are from companies that actually have a product, (unlike in ‘99), one might conclude that when a herd of insiders believe its time to unload their companies on the public, that MIGHT NOT be a time to be overly bullish. (Ok, the rabbit is finally running down the hole).. my point here, is that should history RHYME here and the markets and economy tank in 2020, it won’t be difficult at all in getting a C8.. maybe with discounts.

. This is a hobby... and I’m impressed you recall something I wrote 18 months ago even if you thought it was worthless. Do that with this thread as well.

If you missed my message I’ll be more direct. Extraneous events will have a meaningful effect on the C8. They already have or the ME platform would have been here years ago. I’m only suggesting that the C8’s introduction is coming at a challenging time from two fronts: economic and technological. Take it with a grain of salt. https://www.cnbc.com/2019/04/22/auto...auto-show.html

Best case : high inflation
worst case: hyperinflation
thats if you buy what the you tubers are predicting. But, there is a lot of evidence though. The market is for dumb money now. Nobody knows when it will crash but it is heading that way. The smart money gets out at 80% and let’s the du/mb grab the last 20% before a downturn.

I don't know why anyone is concerned about Corvette if there's a Bear market. Mary has that one solved.
They'll introduce the ME Corvette as a 2021 model. Problem solved

Add in a foolish trade war that is driving up GM's raw material and parts costs and making American goods less popular abroad, and it's a dangerous time for automakers. Thankfully Barra and her team are among the best leadership GM has had in my lifetime.
