► The Time Has Come. APEX Street & Track Wheels For Your Corvette
Calling all Corvette Performance Driving Enthusiasts!
Our staff has communicated with the Corvette enthusiast community for some time now, and I speak for the whole team when I say that we’re ecstatic to get the wheels rolling (pun intended) on developing off-the-shelf lightweight fitments that are perfect for your C5 through C7 Corvette.
I believe the saying goes, “lightweight, strong and affordable; pick two”. APEX has disrupted this thought process for over 12 years now, and once we get a better understanding of your preferences for an affordable (yet race-proven) set of shoes for your car, we’ll put our creative and engineering minds to work to develop a lineup of APEX wheels that makes sense. Street, track, or race, we’ve got you covered.
The best way to help would be to tell us a bit more about what you’d look for and expect in a set of APEX wheels for your Corvette. When you grab your next cup of coffee, could you take a minute to share your thoughts with us?

LEARN MORE ABOUT APEX
For those whom we have not yet had the pleasure of working with, since 2007, our focus at APEX has been to produce high-performance wheels with extreme durability and unprecedented value for the performance driving community. Combining proven Motorsport design features, vehicle specific optimizations, and advanced Flow Forming Technology, we've created wheels that have taken BMW performance driving enthusiasts by storm. As a grassroots Motorsport oriented company, comprised of a diverse group of auto enthusiasts, we understand that enthusiasts from all corners of the car community seek quality products at an affordable price point, and that these should not be mutually exclusive.
YOU ARE IN THE DRIVERS SEAT
APEX does not view the car community through a traditional lens. Since inception, this company has worked hand in hand with enthusiasts through many channels, but much of what we have accomplished stems from our unique ability to incorporate forum members into product development. Rather than sitting around a conference table internally brainstorming a list of products that we feel are relevant to a specific community, we have made it our mission to enlist enthusiasts in the decision making process. Tell us where the market is currently missing the mark for you, and how we can employ our core competencies to fill the current pitfalls. The action of putting enthusiasts at the forefront of product development ensures that APEX delivers satisfactory products.
THE BIGGER PICTURE
We guarantee a different customer experience. Car nuts come in all shapes and sizes, and it is imperative to recognize that enthusiasts have different priorities, as well as short and long term goals for their machines. It is not until our product specialists have completed a needs assessment, that we can suggest a valuable and meaningful solution to our customers. Anything less would be a disservice. Manufacturing wheels that complement the multitude of suspension, brakes, alignment settings and tires specifications instills confidence in our customer interactions.
SHOW US WHAT YOU CAN DO!
“All of this sounds great, but show me what you can do.” When track enthusiasts took delivery of their new BMW F8X M3/M4, they quickly realized that the standard 10” rear wheels were not cutting it, regardless of how sticky their 275 tires were. Drivers had to cautiously modulate the throttle out of mid-corner with the threat of upsetting the car, and therefore lap times were not an accurate depiction of what this new powerful platform was capable of. Correspondence poured in from the community, and after some validation from the community, a lightweight EC-7 18x11” ET44 was born. A strong 18" wheel that offered enough brake clearance for the massive OEM BBK, check. Precise and proven width and offset to support a 305 or 315 r-compound or slick without extensive modifications, check!
The following article should give you an insight into our process, and our devotion to the details: APEX Test Fitment - Squeezing a 315 R-Compound onto a stock F8X
Before we get too ahead of ourselves, we wanted to hear from you—the community. The best way that you could help us develop these new wheels would be to take the brief survey above.

Hi everyone, we wanted to provide an update on everything, especially now given the outbreak frenzy. The final files have been sent to the factory and they are reviewing them now. They were sent about a week ago, and they had requested a few weeks to review everything. We should be getting sample wheels in about a month or so once approved.
What has taken so long and why does it seem like no progress has been made? We went through multiple revisions of the wheels around the inner lip and the spokes to increase brake clearance and durability on track. Our factory is also very busy with multiple orders and Corvette wheels are not the only thing on their pallet. We also got the community involved from the very beginning so we could make wheels based on what you all wanted. This may have given a false sense of progress on our end. When we launched this thread at the end of last April, it was honestly the first thing internally we had done for Corvette. This is not some copy/paste wheel carried over from another design that happens to work. Everything about it will be new and specifically for C5-C7 chassis. Designing, purchasing, and building the machines and toolings to create these has also taken a considerable amount of time, more than we anticipated, which added to some delays.
I know it's taken some time, but it really should be a killer track wheel at a very affordable price. Once again, we appreciate everyone's patience and I can promise we will be delivering wheels. At this moment, we could still sneak into the Q2 delivery window I had stated earlier.
Please feel free to PM or send us an email if you have any specific questions. Stay safe out there!

Finally, I was wondering when this would happen. I figured it wouldn't be too much longer since you were covering the Camaro now.
I'd love to see a set of 18x11s in the SPEC corvette backspace. Unfortunately, I don't know what that backspace is on those. I also hope whatever you produce clears the big Essex AP Brake kits. I'll be glad to test as I am in the market for wheels.

Also in for Spec Corvette fitment. I believe 53 mm is the offset that Forgestar makes spec wheels in.

took the poll on the fb group.
interested in 18x11 and 18x13.
also as i mentioned imo bbs style wheels belong on euros. not american muscle and sports cars. i would love to see you develop a 5 spoke or split 5 spoke design for american cars.
because of this the only two styles you currently have that i would consider is the FL-5 and maybe SM-10.
interested in what you come up with! hopefully prices can be right in line with forgestar.
my 2 cents
thanks!!!

I would argue the opposite!! BBS wheels are some of my favorite styles! My least favorite are the 10+ multispoke designs, but I understand why they do it. Having that many spokes distributes the load better across the barrel of the wheel. I am excited to see where APEX goes with this.

they got ya covered then for sure. yeah its definatly makes for a strong wheel.
the business seems to come from a BMW background so it makes perfect sense why they have so many BBS style wheels (and confirms my statement about them being at home on euros)
if you look at just about every camaro, mustang, challenger, corvette, ford gt etc factory wheel, 99% of them are 5 spokes or split 5 spoke variants.

I wasn't actually trying to argue with you, lol. Looks are very subjective. To say they belong on eruo cars is your personal preference.
BBS wheels may not be factory options, but are used in racing but several factory Corvette models.

Are the wheel going to be forged mono block?

Check out their website, apexraceparts.com.
They’re rotary forged (roll formed/spun forge/whatever you want to call it). For the price, there’s simply no way for them to be forged mini blocks. I mean, I picked up a full set of 4 18” x 9.5 wheels from Apex for less than $1,000 (on clearance discontinued stock).
They’re incredibly popular with BMW guys. Almost all BMW CCA club racers use their wheels because they’re affordable and stronger than most cast wheels.

Thanks everyone for the great feedback so far, we really appreciate it! The only way to create a wheel that fills the needs of the community is to hear the wants from that same community. Feel free to share this with your friends and track buddies to help all of us create the best wheel we can.

I feel like I need to reply to the survey multiple times. I just realized it would be great to also get some wheels in the stock C7 ZR1 sizes which have a wider 10.5" front.
