MAYBE official confirmation of what they will be assembling in the expansion? They have not had an official statement on the plans for the expanded plant yet, have they?

Yes, most likely that they will be hiring additional workers to support ramped up initial ME production later this year. They will certainly need more than the current single shift to meet initial demand.

I'm betting something bigger than just the building of the C8 Mary wouldn't travel just to say hey we are going to build the new C8 here!
I'm betting they are going to announce they are going to also build another car model here, Caddy, Hybred, ??????

She'll get to tell Kentucky state officials, GM is fulfilling its promise to add new jobs at BGA, which, of course, was a condition for receiving tax breaks from the state in exchange for plant expansion. Its also a photo-op to show she's smoothing things over with the unions.

I'm predicting we get a price on the C8.

I sure hope this ****-yst is not correct. Here's the link to the above story. He says about 10,000 C8s will be built the first year with a price of $80,000. Just another Wall St. ****-yst's opinion.

Announcement of the C7.5
Detroit Free Press: "GM’s engine plant in Spring Hill, Tennessee, will continue to make 6.2-liter engines for the traditional Corvette after the mid-engine car is launched at Bowling Green, said Mike Herron, chairman of UAW Local 1853 at Spring Hill."
So the FE will continue to get the 6.2L while the ME will get the 6.3L
Mary is going to announce that Corvette will have two platforms and ME production will be 10K the first year. No doubt the price will be in the C7 Z06 range because all 10K cars will sell out in days.
North of $80K for the LT2.
North of $100K for the LT4.

The division heads of Chevrolet and Caddy are neither one on that list of attendees so it doesn’t seem likely that they are announcing any additional model builds, or a two model Corvette line-up. It could be just the timeline for the C7 / C8 model changeover and additional hiring, maybe additional engine production at BGA..

I feel sorry for the forum's food servers as they can't figure out who to serve the crow to.
